Too many cheaters in S8 sloop.

  • @pumpa-cat Coming accross cheaters only once in the past 4 months is unbelievable given the current state. Unless they have only played once in the past 4 months or don't use hourglass and hide away in the corner of the map.

  • @pumpa-cat Where has Gotszu grossly exaggerated?

Can you please show me where I said Gotszu has grossly exagerrated?

  • @pumpa-cat You are on Gotzus post.

Again I'll ask you where did I say that Gotszu was exagerrating?

  • @gotszu I whole heartedly agree with you. Since Season 8 launched, cheating has been rife, and blatant.
I am disappointed that Rare have remained so quiet on the subject. It appears that they may be more concerned with retaining maximum player numbers rather than ban those that are killing the game.
I won’t be giving Rare another penny (Plunder Pass/Emporiun purchases) until they address this and support their loyal player base.

  • @pumpa-cat who do you think you are speaking to people like that??? This should have been called out by the mods.
These forums are a place to voice opinions/suggestion and relay personal experiences. If you were not there, you are in no position to tell them they are wrong or that something didn’t happen.
If you haven’t encountered much in the way of cheating - either, you’re extremely lucky, or you don’t play much.
For you to launch a personal attack and try to belittle someone is out of order.
Maybe read your comments again, and offer an apology.

    Sorry dad/mom 🤣

Nah, they prefer boasting about their ''22 million player base'' that im assuming 90% of them are game pass users that have touched the game for no more then 6 hours, then quit.

The fact that I still see familiar player names on the seas year in/year out, I have to assume that the actual dedicated active player base for Sea of Thieves, is pretty small for a genre/game of this size.

    1. The game is pretty unforgiving for new players, running back and forth for treasure, PvP, PvE encounters such as Meg/Kraken, learning and trying to figure out what to do in a tall tale, mission is pretty unforgiving for new players if they don't look up guides online etc. Takes a lot of damn time.

They pad numbers when it comes to letting alliance servers and hopping pvp go wild but there is nothing malicious within that, to break that up it would probably cost them more than it would help them at this point in the game

but to suggest that they are letting cheaters fly free over numbers I think is inaccurate and an accusation that I think isn't fair to their dedication to the product.

They gotta figure out repeat offenders, they acknowledge that, but I don't think there is anything to suggest they are turning their head about cheating over numbers.

They have openly acknowledged the actual problem, a small portion of their participants are cheating and they repeat cheat through a process of easy return. They are figuring out how to handle that. When cracking down on something like that it effects the entire household, people will lose access in situations where someone around them was cheating, that is something to be careful about, and in reality the hardcore repeat cheaters get around it anyway.

A common view with this is "oh well, shouldn't have been around cheaters" which is a view that turns into terrible policy and enforcement, crack downs largely cause more chaos than they prevent. It's important to enforce on the correct targets, not creating a situation of bans that negatively effect family members and people sharing the same space.
