Matchmake spawns during battle

    If you’re in a fight currently because the matchmaking sucks, the game should not force another matchmake on you mid fight. We were nearly done the new adventure and decided to help a sloop in need. Since we needed the hourglass to get any progress with the new leveling we thought why not.
    Midfight we got another ship spawn. It’s just bull cr*p . That isn’t balanced or fair, if you’re in a battle there shouldn’t be a spawn. This PVP aspect wasn’t thought out whatsoever and doesn’t take into account battles currently in, not to mention matchmaking never works for my crew.

    5 hours of progress lost and there is nothing we can do about it. Please fix this mode of the game. It’s sucks and has actively screwed us numerous times at this point. Not to mention the 4minute black screens.

    Don't opt in for PvP when you're doing the Adventure, or at least don't complain about it - it's your choice to do both - you pay the price.

    Don't get involved into fights when you're close to finishing an Adventure, if you don't want to risk of starting it again.

    If you don't want or can't handle two fights at the same time, don't start a fight when you know you can get invaded.

    from what im reading is you went and got involved in someone elses battle when u had your own hour glass up so yes the game can spawn another ship your ship battle!so it is fair and balanced and as for the 5 hours of progress lost thats is on you not the game you click on the hour glass to join pvp battles you should of sold all your treasure before clicking on the hour glass!

    @lem0n-curry my complaint is less about the adventure, that part was fine. But matches can never ever be found, and never ever spawn on us. And the one time we do get a battle it spawns unfairly on us.

    Context. We are a brig, friend is a sloop, enemy is a galleon. 2 seconds into putting the hourglass on we get spawned on by a brig. That should not be a thing. How can we progress in this levelling system if we can’t find any matches unless we are already fighting?

    Further context; we’ve played 5 sessions of roughly 5-9 hours. We’ve found 8 battles. In grand total.

    I assumed part of that 5 hours of progress was the Adventure; and you certainly could do something about that: (a) not join a fight and (b) don't put up the Hourglass.

    What is it ?
    Seems to me you wanted to see if you could get some allegiance when helping out a sloop against a galleon ? Why else start Hourglass while in a fight already ?

    When you put up the hourglass and are in open seas, opponents can invade you. That's how it is supposed to work.
    Guess you wanted it to happen after the Galleon sunk, so the unfairness (sloop+you against brig) would be on the other side ? Or expected not to match at all ?

    That is unfun certainly, I hope they get some solutions working soon for SofB battles to happen more regularly.

    We have had better results on both brig and duo-sloop.

    @lem0n-curry midfight meaning during the time of fighting. Not necessarily in the half way point of the fight. Sorry for the confusion on that part. For example if I was interrupted mid game it could be the first 5 minutes of a game session spanning an hour. For the sake of this situation and to clarify, it was indeed the first 2 seconds of the fight.

    Sloop was long gone when we joined the fight. But the issue lies in the fact that is the only option we have in this game to engage in the season 8 content. Diving for matchmaking doesn’t work, record is currently at 2 hours and 48 minutes with no fight to spawn in on. We had an 8 hour session last Wednesday which we only got invaded twice.

    The unfairness comes into play when it’s the only option we have, for example, the Wednesday night our first fight we had to seek out on our current server. Despite a good fight we were spawned in on the moment after we sunk the other ship.

    The problem I ultimately want resolved and addressed is the system in place now is currently not working. But when it does it does so at inconvenient times and circumstances. Going up half a level all night is not my definition of “engaging and fun gaming experiences.” And it’s strange when we have players at level 500+ where as it stands that is Mathematically impossible on the servers we’ve been playing on.

    I understand the problem was our doing. But it was done under the assumption that there will be no progress for us unless we force ourselves into situations which most likely will be unfair. Hence us attacking a galleon, knowing we’d get spawned in on because it won’t work any other time, and black screens of death that last far longer than they ever should.

    Yeah if you don't want to get invaded on, don't put the hourglass up. That fight you're having with the rival faction ISN'T your battle, so you're still vulnerable for invasions. It doesn't matter what situation you're in, from just voting up a faction, to the 15-20 minute cooldown after one of your OWN battles, once the server opens up a slot for an invading ship, you will get attacked and forced into a battle.

    Also kinda funny you decided to third party a fight and got forced into regretting that decision completely when you got greedy for allegiance in the first place.

    Definitely wiser to finish what you were doing before opting in to Hourglass PvP, even if it means missing out a fight you could have won purely based on third-partying.

    Turning the hourglass basically means

    “I am open for a fight regardless of what I’m doing”
