Insider titles

  • Idk if someone already suggested this, but I think if a player acquires all items of the Silver Blade set in the Insider, it would be cool if he/she gets the title "Captain of the Silver Blade" as well. Same goes for the Sapphire Blade set. They could just be additional Insider rewards.

  • Everytime someone suggests something be added to the Insiders Rewards, I say the same thing.

I'm cool with it...as long as they tie the rewards to ACTUALLY testing and providing feedback. Insiders Rewards are hella watered down by AFK farmers at this point...no sense in adding to the pool if there aren't going to be requirements associated to it IMO.

  • @sweetsandman

As an insider, I have seen AFK spinners farming the insider hour and getting their rewards. Personally I don’t care. I’m a proud insider and do my part to advance the Sea of Thieves.

I fully support a title for earning all the Silver Blade cosmetics. I’m excited to see the 3rd set. The Sapphire Blade cosmetics are almost complete. There is about 5 or so cosmetics left to be released.

  • Insiders isnt supposed to be a thing for players to get stuff out of. Its supposed to be something where we as a community help rare further the game, and the rewards are supposed to be given to you as a thank you for your work. So as sandman said, unless it gets tied to actually testing and helping, it shouldnt be given out, because afk farmers do nothing but clog things up just to claim the stuff that is earned by others.

  • Throwing in a reminder that information regarding what happens on the insider part of the forums as well as experiences within insiders is all under NDA.

  • @xshirahx

Technically speaking, we are talking about rewards for participating in the insider program. We are not talking about Insider content. You are correct. Us insiders need to be careful about what we say on the normal forums.

my guess would be the posts talking about activity that does or does not happen there.

  • @wolfmanbush

That’s correct. Talking about any current activities or past activities that are in the Insider program are a direct violation of the NDA that all insiders have signed

Regrettably there a few pirates active on the normal forums who were insiders but got banned for supposedly leaking insider content. They don’t even know what post banned them. Apparently Rare refuses to tell them what post violated the NDA.

The best I can figure, they hinted at content under the disguise of speculation. Many people are speculating about what content will be in season 8. It’s possible they said something they shouldn’t have. I feel sorry for them but at the same time, they broke the rules.

My advice for insiders, if you are questioning your post, don’t post it!

as a non insider that actively wants to avoid leaks that's what I largely see and would guess

having been around so long I pick up on who does it and avoid it because I don't want to put pieces together

pretty much everyone that does it has tells and it's not that hard for observant people to pick up on and once there is a history of them doing it it's unavoidable to pick up on

  • @sweetsandman I mean they don’t pay us, and the reward system onerously requires an hour of play a week with no catch up system. If you fall behind, you stay behind.

I’ll test when there’s new content to test. And I have the time. Again, I am unpaid. And I have a life.

If the reward system allowed me to diligently test for multiple hours at a time when I actually have time in my schedule, I would.

But the system they’ve created means AFKing is inevitable and in my opinion totally warranted much of the time.
