Really? Golden Phoenix weapon set only for streamers?

  • I just watched on Captain Falcore YouTube channel the video of 29.09.2022.

If I understand correctly, only the streamers and a lucky few who win will get the Phoenix weapon set.

Many of us have been looking forward to slowly but steadily completing this truly beautiful and graceful set. And now this.

I know my opinion probably doesn't matter much, but I just can't imagine that this community event or charity stream, which is all about doing good, divides the players into two classes and produces disappointment. Isn't there enough of that in the world right now?

Especially when you consider that all the other parts of this set were available to the whole. What's the point? Without need. Wouldn't there be other solutions? I don't understand this...

At least that's my opinion. I hope that's okay.

  • Understandable that people would be frustrated by this

unfortunately frustrating people with cosmetic decisions and directions has been a common theme throughout the years. unfortunate because it's a game based on cosmetics so the significance to people is high within the experience.

  • Yeah its pretty sucky that we've been going for this Gilded Pheonix set for a year now I think and then it's all wrapped up with a spit in the face for anyone who stuck around and said "well deal with this, RNG on whether you get the last pieces or not"

  • So far they gave it away on community day? and are now giving it away for this charity stream? Maybe they wanted to reserve it for special times such as that? Normally they do a Sail for charity, maybe they wanted to swap it up? I would much rather have a purchasable cosmetic again for charity. I use my Sails of Hope all the time!

  • @abjectarity I would definitely purchase it for a charity.

Didn't they say anyone who participates gets it? I thought that meant anyone who donated during the event, not just the streamers themselves (who get it automatically).

  • @galactic-geek I'm not sure. I've only seen it mentioned in the video so far and it said "twitch drops and giveaways galore."

  • @galactic-geek
My first impression was the same as yours. Anyone that participates gets it. So if you donate, you get it. But falcore's video wasn't very clear. Perhaps we misunderstood. Maybe everyone else's assumptions are correct. Maybe it's only avaliable as a very limited giveaway.

Personally I think the first scenario is better. More people can acquire the weapon pack if they really want it, and more people are likely to donate because of the rewards tied to donating. Win/win.

  • The Twitch Drops are probably these, which started today.

And as far as giveaways are concerned, these are usually always individual gifts.

  • ok I just watched Falcore's video and he says "each participant(ie me) will be given a set to give away." So that means each streamer who is participating will have a code to give away to their individual audiences in whatever method they probably normally use for their giveaways.

  • @luckydielucke This is not really related to your primary question, I just want to point out that your opinion is always welcome here, especially when tactfully and constructively expressed (as your was).

I’m not much of a cosmetics guy but I can understand the frustration of being unable to complete a set because some of the pieces are simply unattainable.

  • I keep seeing this Falcore guy being mentioned, what's so special about him?

Edit: Well, this gives me an idea: Streaming for charity!

If we all pitch in on Twitch and such, we'll be able to get this set of weapons. That'll work... Hopefully.

He is the most humble person in the planet.

  • @thorumsu Ehm.... I don't know if that is true. I remember being linked a video of his and it was... Not very flattering.

He says he is in every stream.

That means it must be true.

  • Aah, in that case...

I am a very flawed individual who is trying his best to move away from the devils on his back :p Am I doing it right?

  • @kalgert

Personally I like Falcore's videos because of all the Lore stuff he does. I think the lore is interesting but honestly I don't pick it up very easily from in the game. I forget what happens during the Tall Tales, and don't read the books or look into the lore in-game that much. However, a video format of lore of the game I think is very exciting and accessible to me, so that's what I enjoy. Also I think he's pretty funny.

I do not watch him for his livestreams or anything, really just the lore.

  • Maybe this is a good suggestion?? I am having a ball with this!

  • Thank you for your feedback.

It's nice to read that it's obviously not just me.

Maybe in the future Rare will find a way to deal more consistently with cosmetic items that were mostly available in the game or twitch drops.

Except, of course, for items created especially for events, such as the Golden Hour Sails or the new gloves.

    With best regards
