Can't invite people from my game bar on PC

  • I've been looking for solutions for this all week and so far I've seen zero official responses or fixes. Here's all the background info - Bought the game on steam, I use the windows + G to open the bar, I've already added people to my list, I set my crew to open, the option to let friends join is on, the game is allowed through the firewall, I've reinstalled the game, both reset and "fixed" the game bar AND companion app in settings, I linked my steam and Xbox account on the bar, and I made sure I'm visible on the app. People can join me from my steam friends list but people I've played with and friended on Xbox are unable to join, as well as the invite option is grayed out and I can't join them (I've also tried all variations of inviting and joining from both the crew join section of the main menu and in game). When I hit the "link Xbox account" button on the main menu nothing happens. I receive invites from people on my Xbox friends list on the game bar, but when I hit accept the main menu disappears for a fraction of a second and then nothing happens. Does anyone have a fix or is this just Microsoft being lazy?

  • This started happening to me as well (but only on one of the PCs). I don't think it's related to Steam since for my it's an MS store version. I've also having the dreaded Store is slow as hell issue right now, but it's not clear that they're related. I've try every fix imagine for both problems (except for an in-place upgrade).

Are you still having the issue?

  • @dr34dl0ck4727 This issue could be caused for two reasons, either your internet connection, more specifically your NAT connection, or TEREDO protocol blocked; or the privacy settings on your account that's not allowing you to receive invites or invite your friends.

  • Check your NAT or Teredo as Metal Ravage stated above. Personally for me, it will tell me it is blocked or open but I can still invites but I first had to disable IPv6 support on my router otherwise I was always showing blocked and port forward/trigger did nothing.. However, this is a fringe case though and I know what I'm doing, so don't worry about having to do this.

You can check your Xbox network connection in the GAMING settings of Windows.
