Hello, been a long time fan of Sea of Thieves and was wondering if anyone knew if there was an explanation as to why the skeleton wasn't implemented into Sea of Thieves for players. From what I've seen, it's one of the most demanded cosmetics by the community. I heard from a random player online once who claims that Rare didn't have any intentions of implementing and when I checked online, I couldn't find those claims. Was wondering if anyone knew as to why or if Rare actually had a statement behind it? It wouldn't be that big of a lore inconsistency since there's the option to work for the Reapers Bones, plus Wanda was partially cursed for a while before being a full on skeleton.
Question about Skeleton Curse
@galactic-geek That makes sense, but the upcoming ability of choosing your path based on your playstyle in season 7 and the Lost Sands options they gave us in the past gives me the impression they're allowing some type of commitment. Besides not all skeletons work for the Reapers Bones either. Briggsy wasn't happy with being cursed and yearned to be returned to normal, the Cap'n was said to be enemies of Flameheart.

We don't actually know if the Cap'n is a bone head though, do we? And Briggsy? She went crazy!
@galactic-geek The Cap'n is said to be a skeleton lord. Then again his motives could be explained by Flameheart Sr usurping him.

Just because he may be a lord of boneheads doesn't actually mean that he has to be 1.
After all, David Bowie was Jareth, the Goblin King in the film, Labyrinth, but he was no goblin.
I hope they been working on the Skeleton curse for quite some time and testing the skeleton model on players through the use of costumes like Bone chiller and Dark Warsmith costumes
to ensure it reach player expectations when it does arrived.I would like both Half cursed as skeleton and full on curse as skeleton.
I get where everyone's coming from here. But choosing your path in season 7 seems to hint they're blurring the lines a little. Maybe you can choose to be like the bad guys a little, and maybe one day we could aquire the long awaited skeleton curse. Look how captaincy is finally going to be a thing after fans called it for years, plus it was Rare's idea for a long time now.

@ken-titled Curses are skins on top of your player model. A skeleton curse would require modification to your player model, which is not supported by curses.
The closest you'll get is with the costumes.
This. You can already be a skeleton - just wear the appropriate costumes!
