So there is a bug or it has been in the game forever. Whenever i climb a ladder of a sloop or brig, a player from one crew swords me while I'm climbing up. It breaks my fall and i cannot catch the ladder. I had this in arena since 8 months. Just found out on brigs today. When i am about to be on board, when a players slashes with 1 sword hit, i automatically get off the ladder without pressing esc key. It is very annoying and i cannot climb. This a bug i have experienced in sloop arena, and today while fighting a grade 5 ma brig.
Can you fix it please rare.

Intended game mechanic, needs to stay. Boarding is the OP go-to for larger crews against solo/duo crews for a reason. Needs more balancing in the other direction IMO.

Indeed! At the moment it is way too easy to swarm ship of smaller crew and keep killing them while ship sinks. One solution I have thought about is to make sloop mast take more hits before it falls, I think it only takes one chainshot currently?@cinnumann said in Ladder bug:

It is the fact that even if you defend your ladder textbook perfect, if two players or more board in tandem, you will absolutely get blundered in the back from the guy who climbed the other ladder as you kill the guy on the first ladder.
Also to anyone replying to this "let them all up the ladder and kill them from the canopy" is an absolute absurd response for any solo. If more than one gets aboard in any capacity, you will likely lose to DPS.

Usually it is the brig or galleon that tries to engage in a turn battle or some other shenanigans. In that scenario, tandem boarding becomes easy because usually I am working my way behind them to stay clear of a broadside while also trying to keep a cannon angle of my own.
@timedsatyr79799 IMO, if you get hurt on the ladder, you shouldn't be able to recatch it on the way down - it was an easily abused mechanic and I'm glad to hear that it's gone. Ladders should be a calculated risk. Don't want to fall? Then don't get hit.
@Galactic-Geek i understand that only sword does it. I'm fine with guns, as most of the time, FORTUNATELY hit reg saves me xD
