Those swords being the Grand Admiral Cutlass, Castaway Blige Rat Cutlass, Scurvy Bilge Rat Cutlass, and Ruffian Sea Dog Cutlass. It doesn't make sense to keep them removed as recolors are a dime a dozen these days, and many players would appreciate having them back to complete these sets!

You might not want them, but obviously others do. Better to have old reskins return than have some sets never be complete!😉

Yes , why not? i never liked " exclusive" things in any game , it's more " excluding " things for many Pirates who didn't sail from the start of this game... That goes for other games as well...
i don't say that someone who has something that others don't are bad but just make sure that an alternative is available for those who didn't participate in a Campaign or chapter or season or ...whatever.

Absolutely agree! I hate seeing a set that has only one item needed to be complete. Plus shirts are underated!

First off, it's simply a reskin that was never intended to be time limited like the Bone Crusher Scar, the Meg Scar e.t.c. It was taken out because some Redditors (i believe) poked fun at how similar and bland they are. Not a good reason to remove a cosmetic, even a reskined one.
Secondly, i wasn't around playing sot for it. I can't really be faulted for not picking up the game at the time! I understand having time limited items (i have many i would hate to see return) but this is just asking for the return of a cosmetic that was never intended to be time limited in the first place.
It's not even like it's a flex or was attached to a important event or something! Some of the figureheads were removed for the same reason, but were brought back at a later date. No reason not to do the same with these sword recolors!

There nothing special about them items except for being removed for looking somewhat the same (which could easily be fixed). Ironic. As said, i wasn't around for it. It's a reskin that was never supposed to be time limited. I want the items back because i hate sets that lack a item or 2 to finish it. That is my true motive.

Because back then, reskins were not as common. Players back then would've been up in arms if their precious sword model got a recolor. Nowadays, reskins are as common as bannanas in a fruit crate. Not to mention Rare has brought back the figureheads that were supposed to be "deleted."
Look, i get having exclusive cosmetics, but this isn't even something remotely flexy. Are you sure this is the hill you want to die on? Defending the readditon of a few sword recolors?

A time limited cosmetic is meant to be obtained within a certain period of time. Everyone is aware that it won’t be obtainable after the event has finished. Rare is making sure everyone is aware about this limitation via social Media and the in-game menus.
These cosmetics however, which I was lucky enough to buy before being removed, weren’t announced to be time limited and disappeared within short notice just because they looked very similar to items, which were already in the game (I remember a cutlass, which was slightly blue, being removed because of another one being slightly green).
As a result, some cosmetic sets stayed incomplete until today, which in my opinion feels more like a problem than two items looking very similar …

I was there, sailing every day, and still couldn't afford it all. Remember, back then loot wasn't so easy to get.

@galactic-geek aye, where gold was at it peak value and every pirate was willing to fight for hours for 10k of gold from skeleton forts, and after battle you had choose wisely which cosmetic you wanted most or choose to save for something more expensive
I'm in favor of this. I thought it was silly back then that they were being pulled. Don't get me wrong, that early on I understood people being frustrated that it was mostly recolors coming to the game and not something fully new in model. That said, the items were already there, and since then we have had the issue addressed to the point where recolors aren't something that bothers folks too much (in fact, we have almost had the pendulum swing the other way now where people often actually ask for recolors often now).
They should have just left them there while still accepting the feedback and working to add more variety moving forward. And since it was silly in my opinion to ever remove them to begin with I am completely for them just dumping them all back in again.
I just checked when those removed figureheads were brought back, and the update (Lost Treasures) apparently added a whole bunch of other missing cosmetics. It's kinda off topic, but it'd be cool if Rare made another update like that, and added the swords, missing shirts, bilge rat flag, and other lost cosmetics!
