Xbox Game Bar with Steam

    I have the game both on Steam and on Xbox Game Pass. When I am in game (Game Pass) and I try to join someones game, it tries to launch the Steam version. It has happened again, because 2 days ago I somehow managed to fix it, but probably after powering off my PC, it broke again. Is something set up incorrectly or is it how the game works?

    The steam version seems to override the Microsoft store one. I'm assuming there is a registry key somewhere that tells your system which version to launch, but I haven't been able to locate it yet.

    The way to fix that is by using Xbox Console Companion. My wife and I have the same issue, I play on Steam and she plays on Microsoft Store. The person with the MS Store version can use Xbox Console Companion to join a friend's game and it will launch properly, the game bar seems to prefer steam. However, invites don't seem to work (they used to if Steam invited MS from the companion, but it no longer seems to work).
