Why weren't the twitch drops announced properly?

  • I literally missed out on everything except the Onxy tankard (which I already had for while now). It's really disappointing as i missed out on a lot of stuff. Why couldn't you guys just release the stuff like normal twitch drops and actually inform people that you are releasing them? It feels kinda unfair and doesn't help introduce people to the streamer at all. Not to mention the weird time-frames they were given in.

Overall very disappointing, and I hope this gets corrected and we who missed out get a second ANNOUNCED shot at the drops again.

  • I kind of get the fun nature of surprise twitch drops, but it’s really frustrating for everyone who’s been waiting for certain drops to come back in rotation, only for them to have tiny watch windows and hardly any coverage.

I personally don’t care about any of these drops but I know a lot of people do.

  • @ninja-naranja Aye! Especially if you didn't have any of them, you would have to stay up for 72 hours in total to get them all! I do have a lot of these drops, but I totally missed out on getting parts of the Ancestral set, the Omen set, and parts of the Obsidian set (which ticks me off the most). And I missed out on it all because rare couldn't bother mentioning it on Twitter or something. Just a pic of the lantern with no context.

  • @el-spaniardchi did they even show up on the official site?

  • @bronzeinquiztor Nope! Literally no info on the drop or the potential chance of something being dropped. Truly disappointing.

  • The spirit of it is sweet but I find it unfortunate that repeats (which are intended for people that missed them) end up being a whole lotta more misses for people.

Gotta be a better way to handle the whole thing imo but I do appreciate the effort put into it and I think all things considered it's been a pretty positive community experience outside of the missing out.

Seems like the foundation is there, just needs some adjusting to keep that vibe positive for more people.

  • @wolfmanbush Agreed! I think the best way to give the drops would've been to give it like a normal twitch drop. 1 per day and 20 minutes to watch, that way people don't miss out because they are sleeping. And it could last as long as the in-game Festival of Giving. Then announce the drop like a normal company would

  • @wolfmanbush I agree with that.

I would have a schedule for drops/raids, but keep the streamer a mystery. Maybe even have a countdown timer going. Love the idea 100% though.

I'm the rat that had them all already lol.

I don't like twitch drops. There should be an announcement besides on Twitch and Twitter

    Exactly this.

You forgot I don't like them lol

  • @pithyrumble doesn’t really matter if you personally don’t like them. It should just be clearer for those who do, when and where to get them.

  • There was an official ping in the official Discord. Any other discord server that follows the official announcements, would have got this ping.

It was not just put up with no announcement like some drops in the past.

That being said, it could have been done better. The whole method of not being able to AFK the stream when you need to sleep/work/have a life, is literally making people stay up unholy hours to get drops they want.

There is a 2 hour nap break happening right now

apparently drops are now inspired by Hell week.

    I wish I needed it!

  • Keep track of everything you already missed here! 🤣

  • I got slapped in the face again and wasn't able to claim the Obsidian flag twitch drop cause stream was bugged out. Now I can't get it anymore and missed out on all the Obsidian set pieces I needed. Such a horrible system!

  • @pithyrumble if you don’t like twitch drops why do you come into almost all threads discussing them just to say you don’t like them? It doesn’t help the discussions very much.
