Commendations like legend of black powder state 'sell 50 stronghold gunpowder barrels as a pirate legend' there's no reference to selling to merchant but I noticed I didn't progress when selling to reapers earlier. Same with stronghold skulls, chests etc.
The breath of sea commendation was fixed so breaths sold to reapers count, so I feel either the commendations should be amended to progress with sales to reapers, or description tweaked to specify need to be sold to merchant, order of souls, gold hoarders etc
Legendary commendations should allow sales to reaper
@hiradc sadly the same is with any faction specific loot. Sorrow, grog, rage chests all do not count for gold hoarder commendations if turned in at reapers, same with ashen winds skulls or ghost captain skulls and OoS.
You have to pick and choose when it comes to things like that as I am pretty sure it is intended.
Things like breath of the sea or mermaid/siren gems are universal loot. That is probably why they made that adjustment. It is a bilge rat commendation, not a faction specific one as well.
I honestly appreciate that you still need to go to outposts to sell for commendations still.
I can't tell you how tiresome it is to always go to Reaper's Hideout where there's nothing but some weirdo with a mask and like 4 cannons to use just to defend from PvP when I just want to sell loot like a Year One pirate back then, a sense of accomplishment in a fine environment than some bleak place that doesn't make my experience feel rewarding outside of the gold i'm getting from that place.
Prejudice aside from the Hideout, just sell loot at the outpost for once, it'll be worth your while and allow you to relocate if you're not a reaper emissary.
@kommodoreyenser sorrow and grog etc are listed under gold hoarders though, so there's the implied association with that emissary. These ones I'm discussing are under athena and just reference selling so it seems too ambiguous
@burnbacon I guess that's true, it's not that I mind them not progressing via reapers, just think it should be clearer
