why is the new tale with captain jack sparrow so boring? Everything is so slow, to much talking and no action at all. Not even parkour is there. I am so disappointed in rare staff. As an old player of SoT I thought this might be cool to come back, but I was soo wrong...
New Storymode is so bad
@antilluscrassus sorry you feel that way matey. Personally I love the story telling, that's what tall tales are about for me.
I guess it's just not possible to please everyone at once!
PS. The action does ramp up throughout the series, so maybe its worth checking the later stories out. Just bare in mind that story telling is the focus of these tales.
I really had a good time doing it with my trusty crew and even with open crews but I must admit I'm a little bit disappointed by the lack of replayability. Or maybe shall I say that I think there's too much of beautiful playgrounds, new seas and lands that it would be a shame for it not to be used in a multiplayer PvPvE/shared world concept.
I'm not disappointed in Rare, this wasn't catered to me who's been around forever and who also isn't Disney's biggest cheerleader so I just went in with an open mind I found I liked more than I thought I would. I found 2 mostly enjoyable. I can definitely see how 1 and 3 are viewed as boring, it's basically just an interactive walkthrough of the ride, they even use the same audio clips from the ride, that doesn't mean they should be written off as a whole. The monkey island easter egg was fun in 1, and while sure not too action packed, the puzzles in the town were enjoyable. You get out what you put in I guess, our crew doesn't look up how to find the extra things and that really makes it more entertaining and rewarding. Same with 3, yeah that one dragged, but all of us being older, when we saw what it was we rushed to the market to see if it was the original audio clip from the ride or the edited 'PC' one. All in all give them a fair shot, they are good starter tall tales for new people honestly.
Sorry , but i don't agree at all. The story is great , the graphics are awesome , the Music ,the Singing , all of it adds to a very Great Atmosphere ..maybe i'm stupid ( * don't even wonder , you simply are stupid, George ) but i don't find the riddles easy , i have to play the Tales more than once to fully understand what is going on...So it isn't shallow..
@personalc0ffee been here since year one anniversary, it’s super fun, can’t wait for Flameheart Tall Tales when ever they get two them.
I mean, these are story voyages... I don't know what you expected. And honestly, I don't know what you are talking about honestly. The pace of the tales was perfect. Also, there is a little bit of parkour in the first tale lol (not much, but there is)
And the rest of the tales are just awesome and they are also packed with action and combats in some places.
@antilluscrassus did u expect a CoD-campain-like? It's still SoT, you know...by the way, I'm here since beta, since launch, have over 2800 hours in that game AND I like the new tales a lot! Awesome work, Rare did here

I definitely agree here.

That really seems like an opinion rather than it being a problem. I get what you mean, I don't usually enjoy tall tales, but I still found these new developments in the story to be fun and exciting.
Agreed. OP is clearly trying to pass off their opinion as fact. Moving on.
Honestly, the first one felt like a huge let down to me as well. It felt like a videogame, walk-thru version of the ride and it made me question how much time they actually spent on it.
Then the second TT made me eat my words; they clearly put a bunch of time into making these.
Just not enough time into testing them! 🐛🐜 🥁
@antilluscrassus
I thought it was a good call. a lot of people were wanting a more story-driven experience.
a lot of people wanted PVE servers but I think this tall tale set up with instanced areas to explore was the exact thing the game needed.
doesn't take away from the base game but if you just want to chill out and not worry about the normal anxiety of potential pvp ( person might just have had a big day and not up for it ) but still wants to tool around in sea of thieves they now have that option.I enjoyed it but I did the tall tales over 2 weeks. just knocking one over every couple of days.
