Board games on the ship (suggestion)

  • Arrrrgh, captain. We've been doing quite a lot of sailing, but the team sometimes gets a bit bored traveling long distances. I propose you install a desk with a board game on our ship so we can while away the time in a simple version of blackjack, say, or poker.

    Wishing all the best,
    Your loyal crew.

  • @los-pollos9463 If you are getting bored than you are doing it wrong.

  • Minigames would be a nice addition and make a lot of sense with the pirate theme... Making competitions with friends, or in taverns would be really cool.

  • So you just stay exited all the time when have to travel across the whole map? I'm saying adding this feature wouldn't take a lot of effort, would fit within the game and will help diversify gameplay, because enjoying the view (as great as it is) and making boat bands can feel a bit repetitive after a while.
Anyway, was just an idea, take it or leave it. But I'm interested as to what other suggestions there could be. And how likely something like this would be implemented in the game

  • This has been a suggestion for as long as I have been a pirate.

  • I'd be down with minigames in the tavern! Not on ship though... It's already tough enough to get the average open crew pirate to do basically anything around the ship (sails, etc).

In the tavern ? So people have something to do while waiting for someone to bring them Athena items ? Or will the Chest of Legends be their ante ?

If you pull up to an outpost with a mermaid present and start trying to sell, I'm sure they won't be picky. Anything will do.

  • I think it's beautiful idea.

You got me there - I hope you won't have a royal straight flush and a pile of doubloons on the table when someone disrupts the game with some plunderbumbs before he enters 😎.

That's the risk for the camper... they may be in the minigame screen and either get blundered, or they may not even see you sneak by and greet the mysterious stranger with your glowy goodies.

Now I want a flash emote - have to show off me glowy goodies in style... 😁.

  • This is not a new, or a good idea. It takes away from the core concept of the game - going on an adventure!

Mark my words - if implemented, you will start to see complaints of minigames being interrupted by thieves and murderers. 🙄

And any kind of gambling definitely won't be happening.

The only place I see this working is if it's inside the Sea Dog Tavern while you wait for an Arena match to start - but with Rare swearing off Arena, that probably won't happen either.

  • I don't understand why people got mad about this idea... When you have set up your ship and all you can get from voyage is just an sea view (which is quete spectacularly), instruments and alcohol, you will get bored, becouse you can't enjoy it forever. I think, that Blackjack on your ship is just a brilliant idea :)

There are barrels to look out for and other crews; sails need to be adjusted.

You want to be on a galleon where the helmsman does all this and the other three are playing somewhere and probably blame the helmsman when they get boarded or sail into a keg or two ?

  • Try keeping a look out on the horizon and in front of you, checking the map for reapers, firing yourselves off to every island with empty pockets for more supplies and keeping sails adjusted etc if you're bored. Distractions like this are not a good idea. Play a casino game instead.
