Constantly getting Cyanbeard on Steam

  • Ahoy mates. This post is for helping my boyfriend rather than myself. He's constantly getting the Cyanbeard error (connection to Xbox Live/SoT servers disrupted) on Steam since this morning's update. He's linked both accounts just fine, and his internet is not at all the problem, I'm playing the game with a worse connection than his and on a gaming laptop. And since the solution that Rare gives you is not very complete, nor helpful, I come here to ask for some help. Thank y'all very much.

  • Welp, thanks so so much for your help people.

  • @morcath Sounds like a connection issue to PlayFab servers (Xbox Live).

    • Reset Router

    • Check for Uncorrectabls

    • Port Forward/Open NAT

    Sea of Thieves - Steam
    TCP: 3074,27015-27030,27036-27037
    UDP: 88,500,3074,3544,4380,4500,27000-27031,27036

See if that yields a more stable connection.

  • @bizi-betiko Hey there, thanks so much for your reply! We were both getting so nervous and annoyed, was taking days and it wasn't fixing, so he got the game directly for PC/Xbox rather than Steam. Xbox account was still acting weird, but we managed to fix it in the end. Thanks so much anyway, will keep that for the future just in case.

  • @morcath If you run into issues with login, then easiest way to reset it to clear the Xbox Live token in the Credentials Manager:

    • Click the Start button from the bottom Left corner of Windows and type Credentials Manager then press Enter.
    • Once viewing the Credentials Manager, click the Windows Credentials button.
    • Find Entries labelled Xbl_Ticket
    • Left click any with 1717113201 in the name and select Remove
    • Sign back in to Sea of Thieves
