i really want to change my sea of thieves username but dont want to pay $10 to change my gamertag because i dont use xbox and see no need to but is it possible to switch xbox accounts and if so would i loose all my progress?

Your current Profile is tided to your GamerTag profile/name.
I suggest you bite the bullet and pay the 10$
or
have a group of friends report your name.what happens if people report your name?

@rtl-saint If it is deemed offensive, they rename you to a random generated one like radiantsock402 and give you a free name change credit to pick a new name.
Perhaps the person reviewing "takes their word for it" as being offensive and does it.
