@ippoc said in Rare - Fix your game for the love of god:
Like some have already posted here, you can't please everyone. But sure this is not about pleasing, but about fixing their game.
This isn't about pleasing everyone. The game is broken. This is a broken game. Ever remember how big an update shrouded shores was?? It was a massive update with tons of content.
EVERYONE loved it. Large massive update that they waited to release. YAY it worked.
The content will be released. It the content WILL come out. How about focusing on fixing the game first.
I have not experienced many bugs at all and I feel there is this sense of entitlement on these forums where people seem to forget it is real people working on a project that they seem to care for deeply.
No one is forgetting that real people are working on this. Real people however are working on other things and not fixing bugs. They are releasing stuff in too high a frequency to EVER actually make quality checks to the game.
The reason why they keep sprinkling little updates here and there is for the players who grind though everything in a single day. Give them a super large update that should take a regular person a month or 2 to complete, they will complete it in a week and then complain there is nothing to do in the game. That is their problem.
There are so many game companies out there and most of them don't put in this time or effort.
All companies put in this time and effort. Other games do expansions or super large content updates.
Rare does something like the festival of fishing. You call that an update??
They could have taken everything they released in the past 6 months and did one large update while making sure the game WORKS. Guess what, we still get the update but we also get a polished game.
Yes, you mention that other games after a year or two fix bugs instead of new ones coming all the time. But you might be forgetting that this is an online, constantly evolving game. It seems more that you are not very familiar with game development or coding etc. (Not like I am some kind of savant on the subject)
No not after a year or 2 fix bugs. They fix the bugs in a week or 2, not YEAR.
Once the bug is realized they find it and fix it up with a hot fix or in the next possible patch update that they may release in a month.
Every bug in Sea of Thieves has been in sea of thieves for years of even months and then they give us NEW bugs that they never fix.
Dude I am familiar with coding and development. This is not an constantly evolving game. This game only evolves as much as they release and as quickly as they releases, aka. Not any faster or more than any other game with an online presence.
Is this your first online game??
But when they add something, change something. Then this is new lines of code. Most of the time it can be the smallest, dumbest thing that can ruin an entire thing. You could have 9292849 lines of code for this game. But if you just forget one little thing, like a / in the middle of walls and walls of text. All of the sudden the entire game breaks.
Dude this isn't all of a sudden. The game has HAD the same bugs for a long time now. They say they fix it but they never did. Its still part of the game.
The problem with releasing fast updates is that if you can't fix and polish the game before the next update, you have no way to narrow down where the bug or the problem is and you keep added more and more updates before fixing any of the issues then you are just compounding the problems.
They are making it HARDER to fix.
Rare is made up of multiple different areas of development most likely, so you don't ask the CEO, marketing director or designers to go and write the code and find the bugs. That is a certain area within the company that handles this.
This comment is completely pointless to the discussion and I have no idea why you even added it.
Why is this usually something that happens all to often, no matter what game you look at. People complain because they think that releasing one thing or doing one thing means the entire staff is just doing that alone.
No, what people look at is the company has made a decision to release more and more content. The developers can instead suggest "HEY GUYS WE WANT TO FIX THE GAME BECAUSE ITS GARBAGE!!!"
Except we don't get that. Except we haven't actually gotten ANY NEWS from Rare since even before covid.
The developers have taken a back seat to this game and haven't really answered any of the issues plauging this game.
You know what other companies do?? They have a presence in the forums and they release dev blogs to help answer questions.
You know what this game does?? NOTHING.
Rare employee's instead are just going around acting as moderators to the forums and there has been no actually discussion on the state of the game or the constant issues. Instead we get this
"Hey guys Joe Neate here with another dev update, so we are releasing more content and more stuff for the emporium. Our community is growing larger and larger. Now lets talk about the update" - They talk about the update and thats IT.
And about their name being used as an insult? Yes hello? This happens in any online game I am afraid. "Thanks Volvo!(Valve) You just ruined the game" or "Wauw Gaben(Gabe Newell from Valve) really? Gotta do me like that, so greedy!"
This is not a unique ting that just happens to Rare my friend.
Other companies are used their names as insults when it comes to money grubbing transactions. Queue in the "so greedy" comment.
Rare is the only one that is used as a statement of a poorly developed game. There is no other game I know of where the glitches are problems are left and right in the game as this one.
Nobody in their right mind at Rare would ever just on purpose ruin this game on purpose. Even if they wanted to, then Microsoft would stop them.
Stop trying to make the company look or sound evil. It is their game and they are doing a fine job, support them instead of throwing insults towards them.
The company does look and sounds evil. Like Devil incarnate. They are not doing a fine job and need to get their act together and freaking address the community and have a bigger presence.
They used to have a LARGE presence the first year of the game, then they went to monthly updates instead of weekly and it was all downhill from there.
This is poor management and unfortunately it reflects on the company, especially when the developers are quiet about all the issues going on.
Developers are part of Rare, Rare owns Sea of Theieves, Sea of Thieves is riddled with bugs and issues. Yeah they are all responsible.
Thank you :)
You are welcome.
