Every pirate visiting the outposts has seen and knows about that! Well, at least all of the ones who don't have double eyepatches, anyways... 😅

That's not what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about are similar occurrences elsewhere outside of the outposts. Is there more going on than we know?

To that end, I have spoken with her Majesty about this mysterious dirt, and she has seen fit to assign me as an attaché for a new outfit she has dubbed Detecting Investigation Research and Exploration, or DIRE for short. As such, I am looking into this matter deeply, as well as a few other matters. It's my obligation to Science and logic! To that end, I am looking for volunteers to assist me in these mysterious matters and other unexplained things.

I have revisited the site and for the time being, it remains unchanged, though some of my sources say it may change on the 25th or perhaps in 7 weeks. Keep your eyes on it. Oh, and it was on the NW side - right next to the giant eagle statue, if you'd like to look into the matter yourself.

Visit the site - the above image doesn't do its size justice due to the perspective. There's enough cleared space for a small structure. It's also conviently completely flat.

Well, kind of... I did grab my shovel, but not to dig. I used it to ever so gently tap the rock-face, to see if it was hollow. The result was inconclusive, though, because my shovel broke. 😅

I'll sail back and check again this evening with a new shovel. Perhaps there's a key somewhere, hidden in plain sight?

Whut? What do you mean?

Virtually every vault, the hidden space on Wanderer's Refuge, the Sea Dog Tavern, the Reaper's Hideout, the Pirate Legend Athena Hideout, the Shores of Gold, the Devil's Roar, the fort in the DR, the Maiden Voyage, the Trapmaker's traps, and the outposts at various times (just to name a few) - including now.

I haven't logged for 2-3 months brother. Even the plunder pass is a mystery to me at this point. I just got nothing to do in the game right now.
