First off, I love this game. Love the visuals, love the gameplay. Just hate the PvP, I just want to be left alone to sail around sometimes, I enjoy it.
My thought is on adding a PvE mode, with no PvP harrassment, something that could be played SOLO for those of us who do not always have friends to play, but have an itch to play Sea of Thieves. The idea of being ganged up on is not appealing and I imagine is also hurting sales a bit. Add a Solo mode, or someway to set the game to private so people can just enjoy the game without having to be FORCED to play PvP when they just want to be Pirates. You could also add AI pirates, that are not Skeletons, for more combat options.
The other option or Idea on this would be:
letting Game Host, during match creation, set the world to private or invite only, so the player can have their friends come in and out, as they please. +Another way to do this is to, instead of giving a player 4 slots to add party members, adding SHIP SLOTS, where players can have 4 ships MAX of 4 players Each, or you know, 8 ships of 2, or 5 ships of 3 (for 15) players PER Private match. That way players and their friends, if they have enough or each friend wants to be their own ship, can do so. Making the PvP more Optional, Social, and Friendly. Rather than how the PvP is now, where players prey on people 1-2 players in a party and basically ruin everyone else's experience in the game, unless you want to stow away.
Anyway, Idk about everyone else, but I tend to be alone when I want to play this, or max have had 1 other person to play with. But we both have grown out of PvP, and most my friends refuse to buy this BECAUSE of the PvP. I am not saying to remove the PvP, but make it optional, seriously, it should have been that way from launch. I know I am not the only one who would love a PvE/Solo mode, or at least being able to set the world to Private, so my friends and I, or just myself, can play, gather stuff, blast skeletons and fight mythological creatures... without the harassments and hassle of PvP on top of everything else. I think the game would sell more, and bring more people in if it Had some sorta solo, actual co-op, and/or optional PvP that was not always active when I just want to sail around and hang with friends. I do not mind other ships, or adding more skeleton crews (maybe add more types of enemies too) in place of Player Crews, to fill the world out more.
