Be patient. Game development takes time and priorities shift. They said it would be coming very early in the game's development cycle - in fact the original idea for the 1st update was ship captaincy, naming ships and post-Legend/endgame content - but that got pushed back indefinitely due to an outcry of player feedback that the main game loop wasn't fulfilling, and we needed more stuff to do besides voyages and forts with the occasional Kraken or Player Crew inconveniencing us.

true but it's has almost been three years I just wish they would do that soon

"Why did my ship's name get banned?! This is a pirate game! How could it be toxic?!"

Here's hoping that their profanity-check is next level (should they implement this)! Also, @Rare-Community-Managers don't forget to include checks for phonetic spellings.
