VR Version?

  • Hey all,

So I bought an Oculus Rift S and love it... apart from the motion sickness that does not effect my wife, anyway! I thought and shocked it's not a think, playing this game in Vr would be amazing, raising sales with pulling hands down, sword and pistol, steering the ship etc...

How awesome would VR be if this game was VR ready? Maybe the VR players have to go into a different server because keyboard and mouse MIGHT be OP to VR or you think VR would be better because of hand motion, unsure but either way, sailing around etc with full VR would be cool!

  • This has been mentioned before. While I don't think that it's something that will be supported in the near future due to gameplay balance reasons, I have seen VR devices on the work desks of Rare employees during SoT dev videos in the past - so 1 can only hope! šŸ˜…

  • Vomit simulator 2020

Joke aside it can be fun.

Seriously though, I don't know if I'd make it 10 minutes into this game with in VR with vomiting.

  • Oh I feel sick too and need to train my brain more but would be fun the VR team on their own server doing manual labour because work life is not enough :D

  • I was just joking the other day about how awful this game would be in VR. It would have to be on VR-only servers with no waves. But if you had that, I agree it would be a lot of fun.

  • I wonder if the act of vomiting in-game while using VR, especially while on a rocking ship upon the waves, would induce actual vomiting. šŸ˜‚

  • It would be amazing but people playing VR would be so bad XD

  • Would love to have a vr version. The game is already pretty immersive so this sounds great to me.

Also it will go pretty well with the combat mechanics, since they are really simple (swing your sword and shoot with your guns).

Vr will need to have its own servers though, which means that they will probably be kind of empty.

VR is growing, and it only takes 6 crews to fill a server. I’d be perfectly happy solo slooping anyway.

Microsoft doesn’t have any skin in the VR game, though. Augmented reality with Hololens yes. But for Xbox VR they are waiting until cordless headsets are a thing, or so I have read.

Personally I wouldn’t go cordless even if it was an option.

  • @menphuess vomit. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤣
