3 man sloop, 4 man brig and 5 man gal

  • So just as the topic says. I'd l8ke to see an extra member for each boat. Sloop can handle 3 easily IMO. I understand that it's not for everyone bit me personally I'd like to see that happen

You know, Rare extensively tested the galleon and sloop with extra players. Both of them were nigh impossible to sink. Not happening. They later used their knowledge of ships to create the brigantine, balanced around 3 players.

  • It's not a boat, it's a ship. The developers spend hours to strike a balance between crew size and the ship's capabilities, so no. I'd rather see more ship types.

    So what's the difference?

  • I can see the appeal of maybe having a Ship larger than the Galleon (5 crew). But to be honest you can easily sail the Sloop and Brigantine solo and the Galleon with 2 crew just fine. (Obviously more crew makes it easier). I really don' think adding crew to any of the current ships would improve them as a game mechanic.

  • 3 man sloops would be way to OP.

It's more considerate if you explain why, so that others have room to disagree and debate.

With the extra ship damage it opens the doors for more strategy PVP wise.

Much better, gracias. I don't mind if the galleon got 5 max players, even though it became unsinkable according to the devs. I already never see galleons when I play, it would be a cool change of pace to get excited seeing one and have the ultimate PvP challenge for me and my mate. we'll gladly take 2v5 even if we have our butts handed to us. I think the sloop and brig are fine as it is, however. One cannon on each side of the sloop works, and the ship is small enough that you don't need a designated helmsman, one of the two on the cannons can get to the wheel in a literal second. And as for the brig, with two broadside cannons either way, you can have both manned as well as a helmsman. It works smoothly for the two smaller ships.

  • Afaik the ships are designed to constantly have something to do, from anchor, sails, wheel...
So if you give all ships an extra sailor, this one has nothing to do other than beeing not on the ship, but on islands, enemy ships or whatever.
This extra sailor will disbalance a lot of things, so i say no to this.

I can't think of any ship being un-sinkable because there is an extra crew mate, especially if I have an extra crewmate. Man if I had a galleon with one person on repairs, one on cannons, one on helm and 2 full time boarders wooo buddy that will be fun.

Also if you're ever in a good ship battle sometimes the victor comes down to the crew who stocked their ship better.

    Here ya go

Ergo, a boat fits on a ship. That's why it's called a rowboat.

  • Tbh. The galleon is more 5 man.. A good brig can easily sink galleons without much effort. A galleon needs extra crew.. I personally would like a 4 man brig for fun times

  • I remember being a part of a 3 man sloop when i made friends.
We ruled the seas. Took out galleons and brigantines with such ease we were unsinkable.

1 person dedicated on repairs, one steering and one firing. You were invincible. So i dont think it would be a good idea sorry.
