@galactic-geek first of all, yes theres something such as sword spamming. and it's simply to literally just spam left click using the sword aka spamming sword swings. and its true that when anybody chases u with a sword is baiscally a bot cause all theyd be doing is holding W and spamming the sword without using any skill other than the skill of holding and spamming a button on your kbm. and yes ofc they are noobs even if they kill me once, because simply u dont have to be a pro to kill a pro because the game has no skillgap anymore or it barely does. and speaking about the mast test. the mast has a different hitbox than a player and a players hitbox apparently floats behind the player as theyre running. and blocking doesn't work like its supposed to and i have videos that proof it.

I actually watched it more than most. Must have repeated it 10x. I don't think the range was that far away to be honest, and as I said earlier, his back was turned most if the time, so you can only assume he was too far away. After all, his opponent could've been on his heels the entire time only to slow down, therefore creating a bit of distance as he turned around and jumped. Regardless of whether it's too far or not, this isn't a sword issue. The thread suggests the sword is broken - it's not. If anything, it sounds like the hitboxes might be.

Seriously though. You swing a maximum of 3x before a delay or gap is introduced into the attack combo string - that alone means that it can't be, by virtue of definition, spam.

This is blatantly false. I see varying degrees of skill in EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER that I come across.

Yeah, okay. But we're testing range, not hitbox size. All that needs to happen is for the edge of your attack to hit the edge of an object's hitbox. Most hitboxes are flat, invisible walls in 3d space, so size isn't really relevant, at least to melee - only the open space in between it and your attack is what matters. And again, not a sword issue, but rather a hitbox (distance/positional) issue.

Okay, please explain how it's supposed to work in your view, then explain why it doesn't based upon that view, and finally, share your videos to support your viewpoint. I would like to see if I can counter-argue those points.

It works 100% of the time for me. When it doesn't, it's usually because my opponent is either not directly in front of me, or moving away from that specific position (laterally) so that he, or she, gets around my front-facing block.
Also, even if it only works some of the time, that's still more helpful than not using it at all and having it never help you... 🙄
@arj-x3644 The sword spam was put into the game due to all the double guns bunny hoppers it's a pirate game I am for getting rid of sniper and blunder only have a sword and pistol, but we are all the hardcore streamers to thank for making the double guns a thing yes the sword is op but at the same time so is the blunder and sniper this is why xbox only servers were made and the pc server is a dying so fast due to the un balanced pvp system in place
As I said in the other thread that apparently is getting ignored now by the pro-sword crowd for making too much sense, give the sword it’s movement penalty back on a miss. Any weapon that can stun you from moving if it hits should also give you a bit of a slow down from moving if you miss. That’s just balance.
Changing the block angle arc to match its attack angle arc wouldn’t hurt either to fix the random holes in blocking that seems to happen from time to time.

My POV is 90°, and most of those clips are really old, because due to my network speeds, I don't upload often. Besides, in the 1 clip that's relatively recent, I never did more than 1 combo per pirate, and only ever continued it on hit.
In fact, assuming the hits connect, you never need more than 1 full combo, so I still maintain that the so-called spam is a term perpetrated by those who have as yet adapted to the cutlass updates and are attempting to put a negative connotation to it to discredit their opponent's skill and victory over them. A.k.a., they're sore losers - especially after I and many others analyze their clips and point out their mistakes and how they could have done things differently for the better.

Lol well I am trying to show how ridiculous the attack arc is at times, hence asking for the same block angle. It just needs to be the same whatever the degrees are (should be locked at 90 degrees for both IMO) Also, pro-sword mandatory guys think there is nothing wrong with the occasional greatsword-like reach or the 360 spin attack ability it currently has. They want all the upsides with no downsides.
No one can point out to me how it would be unfair for the sword miss to slow you down to loot carrying speed for .5-1 second considering the weapon locks others in place on a hit AND making attack/block arcs the same. It would literally bring some sense of thought back to sword combat. Not asking for a damage nerf, not asking for slower sword swings or more time in between misses. Literally nothing is needed to mess with damage output if you are actually good with the sword.
I honestly could care less about double gun as I regularly rock sword/sniper OR blunder/sniper. It all depends on the situation. Lately though with the inconsistency of the blunder to knock back and do enough damage, I am back to mainlining sword/sniper like I used to after the first blunder nerf to 10 pellets. The benefit now is you can carry blunder bombs to fill the void AND they are consistent.

@brunk Point of view versus field of view? The ONLY difference I see in context to SoT is that PoV doesn't have to apply to the 1st person, and may also apply to ideas. Otherwise, they are essentially the same thing.

There is literally no point to your statement other than they are constantly trying to balance the sword out for over year now. My point is they are close and with the tweaks mentioned it would be near perfect.

We could always bring the miss swing penalty back if that suits you over the movement slowdown? Blunder and Sniper are punished severely on a miss as well, 70-100% damage output thrown in the trash and a near 4 second wait time to try again. Guess we better make reload speed cut in half on a miss to even it out? Ridiculous! Here's the ultimate bias for swords once again, a miss SHOULD be penalized somehow. You shouldn't get participation trophies when it comes to fighting other players.
You also have other options if they added the miss slowdown. You are basing ALL of your counterpoints on both users having a sword when that will only be the case 25% of the time (given 4 weapon possibility)
Other tactics if you miss your sword swing and are have a slowed walking pace:- switch to a gun
- block hop forward to close gap
- time a good sword lunge if they hid around a corner with a blunder waiting
Ultimately, regardless of how it gets addressed, there needs to be something done about players doing the M1 machine gun tap and just sweeping their player view all over the place to get hits.
In addition - There are also players wanting swings to not count through crew members which could also be reasonable given NO OTHER WEAPON travels thru your crew members as well.
