Reload QOL Suggestion

  • Absolutely loving the new update right now! I feel like there's so much they got right in this new update - it's so great.

One change I would personally like to see that has been bugging me as I've been playing and pvping a lot more with this update is an improvement to reloading. I understand that guns are super strong in this game - they two-tap if you don't eat. I don't think the reload time should be shortened, but I would like to see the two stages of reloading split up so that they can be performed separately.

Here's what I mean by this if you're confused: Currently, when reloading with the blunderbuss or sniper for example (I don't know about the pistol because I never use it) you put ammo in your gun and then pull something back before your gun is fully reloaded and ready to shoot. Even if you're about to finish that full reload animation, if you sprint and cancel it, you have to start the animation all over again when you pull out your gun again. In my opinion, it would be a really nice QOL change if you only had to restart the animation from after the point where new ammo is inserted into the gun, as opposed to putting ammo in the gun again and cocking it back, assuming you canceled the animation after you put ammo in the gun.

That's all, just had this thought and wanted to throw it out there. Overall though, really enjoying the new update and I'm a huge fan of the direction they took with it!

  • @yagotvevo Realistically and animatedly, what you propose makes sense. However, from a gameplay balance standpoint, it doesn't.

Just wait until the firearm is cocked, and you can fire immediately after.

  • @galactic-geek I know how it works. Also don't see how it's unbalanced. Reload time remains unchanged.

  • @yagotvevo Think of it this way: I'm in a fight with a rival pirate; I shoot him once, but mid-reload see him coming at me with his sword; I manage to finish loading the weapon, but not cocking it. I quickly switch to my own sword to block, which I do successfully. He bounces off of my block. I switch back to my firearm; because it's already preloaded, it's quickly cocked and I can shoot him dead. It's faster, not the same. That's why it's not balanced.

  • @galactic-geek It's still not faster

  • @yagotvevo When you can do half an animation instead of starting it over again, that's faster.
