    handheld harpoon, pulls you closer to objects and ships, harpooning players brings you both equally close together. it takes up one weapon slot and has a limited ammount of rope (like ammo but if the rope is shot further it takes up more rope) this can be used for boarding other ships or for cool canon shot manuvers.

    Even with the... interesting, physics of Sea of Thieves, I don't see this working. Perhaps having a grapple with a rope would work, able to either be thrown or shot from a cannon and then climbed or swung from?

    As big and bulky as the harpoons are on deck, I find it hard to imagine it in handheld, miniature form. Besides, grapple/blunder combo would bring so much hate.

    Then how about simply being able to either walk or use the harpon's rope as a grapple to climb ? Let's say you harpon a hill or a rock formation, you walk on the rope or climb using the rope kinda like a ladder would ?

    @betsill how do we have gravity guns ?

    We shoot a harpoon, tied to a rope propelled by something like blackpowder that can be reeled in (and automatically will with loot and people in sot probably due to physics limitations)

      Gravity gun:
    • unlimited uses-check
    • doesn't need to reload- check
    • instantly pulls in objects- check
    • holds objects- check
    • can fire held objects- no

    @betsill what a massive nitpick. anyway the addition of a handheld harpoon wouldnt even be a ¨new¨ space age thing because we already have harpoons lol.

    Anyway, harpoons hold onto stuff (or else the really wouldnt be that usefull for whaling now would they)

    Real harpoons are just as reusable as the ones in sot, and judging by the fact that you think the harpoon guns dont use gunpowder the cannons in sot dont either ? I mean i never saw someone actually loading in the powder we just put in a ball...
