Two nights ago we chase another Brigantine down at Shark Bait Cove.
As I board them I kill the lone remaining survivor (our cannons green lighted the other two) and notice a Tall Tale Chest in the hull.
So I call the dogs off and we start patching their ship. As they spawn back one resists and gets killed again while the other two bail (We had put a ton of holes into them).
So I flipped to game chat once their ship was repaired and two of the guys were pretty chill. Then the guy who resisted came back and started crying about "We just want to finish this Tall Tale & I don't know why you had to chase us etc......" . After a minute of hearing this I sword lunged back to our ship, flipped back to party chat, put their entire ship to sleep with two weary balls and told the boys "When you awake kill them all".
Moral of the story: Be humble and gracious with the gifts you've been given because in this game they can be taken away as swiftly as they were given!
Whining "will" get you sunk.

You guys hunted them down and killed them. Then you decided to be oh so merciful, and then killed them again after one dude got rightfully angry because of your previous attack, practically ruining the chill guys quest.You sound like a jerk who thinks he's giving life lessons or something. Either sink them or leave them alone, but don't play the benevolent/malevolent deity as an ego boost and then brag about it. Lame imho.

Sinking them was justified (disrespectful player expressing his displeasure with our pursuit of their ship by whining and belittling our play style).
If you don't accept the advice that's on you.🙂@buddyboy227 Also, don't think for a second that I haven't been on the other side of the fence (most all of us have at some point). It's how you ultimately handle the encounter that determines the final outcome. Many times I've messaged aggressors after a battle to tell them "Well played" and ended up in party chat with them making new friends.
If you can't see that whining is unbecoming to your reputation and disrespectful to those around you (both allied and enemy) then that's your shortcoming not mine.@burnbacon It had absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing but you're entitled to your opinion. Had the player exhibited a more humble attitude we all would have been appeased. Instead he wants to play the guilt card in an attempt to discredit an act of kindness. 🙂😐☹
