Tsunami’s or title waves

  • So I had a idea. What if the entire roar started shaking with A receding waterline. Maybe about every 4 hrs or so? it would open up new caves and revile Hidden content under the water. For about 15 or 20 min? Then after the time is up a giant wave comes though. Would make for good content. What are your thoughts on this?

  • @heavyflow562 seems fun their would be many glitches though.

  • Ignoring the logistics for a moment, I can just imagine the number of patches Rare would put out to balance it out. If they were to do this the tidal waves would be OP at first, severely damaging your ship, or the frequency would be too high. This is Rare after all, their scales of what constitutes a "challenge for the player" is much different than what the player considers a challenge.

  • I do understand what your saying but I do think it can be done. Yes it would be buggy. that’s what the insider is for. It wouldn’t be a small update. I do think they need to stop the monthly stuff and do ever other month to fix what is wrong already

  • Sea of Thieves has no waves.
    Large or small.
We have swells that produce waves that do not break on the beach.
    No tides either.
    I'd rather have boat wakes.

That is how we know SoT is a game, not a simulation.

    Interesting idea, though.

  • @barnabas-seadog Seriously why don't we have waves on the beach. Seems like such a simple thing now that I think about it.

  • @mferr11

No doubt a lag inducing piece of tech, just to put waves on the beach.
There is a lot of beach.

Even just boat wakes would be so cool.

But not if it makes things like hit registration worse.

  • I think the beginning of this is a good idea. Maybe something smaller scale. Perhaps one of the islands with enclosed bays has the water lower so that you can walk down into a cave. Probably best if player triggered rather than event like. Co do a cool dungeon style think with loot and all that. But you gotta leave your ship out there so even more vulnerable than a fort cuz you can't see. Likely would have to leave someone on ship to protect it.
