Equipment, Clothing, Vanity, Emotes, and Pet Names do not Save!

  • I have been playing SoT since January of 2019. Never once, have my cosmetic clothing or equipment items saved from previous playing sessions. I have to re-equip everything from one server to the next.

  • Been a bug for about 3 months now.

It randomly fixed itself for me last week, why? no clue.

Permanent fix is hopefully coming with the next update, i recommend checking the dev-videos they do since they always talk about stuff like that.

  • This bug was fixed this month for me

  • The equipment bug stopped for me. Never had the clothing or pet name issue. Submit a support ticket.

  • @lj-rules38yt I bet you are getting really tired of redressing and re-equipping over and over and over again... it gets old doesn't it? With pets and emotes it's becoming overwhelming.
I've been playing since early 2018 and have the same problem, nothing saved from server to server. It's only my main game character, my insiders character is dressed and equipped as everyone else's.
This isn't the equipment bug that many others have been experiencing, there are only a handful of players that have this particular problem. (we are as rare as the Shrouded Ghost)
I have sent five or six support tickets starting in 2018, the latest one sent about two weeks ago.
Send a support ticket, let them know there are more of us that are eternal noobs, hopefully someday we'll get help.

  • @pollyoliverperk I’m a Day one player since March 2018 and this is currently happening to me. After the last update, my equipment items seem to now save which is great. I’ve submitted multiple support tickets on this as I’ve been trying to test multiple fixes out myself and only a couple times I’ve gotten it to stick.
I will note that I play SoT on multiple places. PC, Xbox One X, OG Xbox, controller w/gamepad. Wondering if some of you who experience this are also playing the game cross-play themselves?

On my Pet names saving, I’ve found that typing their name in, saving it, backing out, going to same pet and switching their outfit, at the same screen I’ve gone again and changed their name again and saved it. Back out and this has seemed to work in saving my pets names between sessions.

My emotes not saving is most frustrating part for me now that I’ve spent so much real money in acquiring them. Having to re-assign 3 pages of emotes each time I play is getting so annoying that I’ve stopped bothering with them.

Hope they fix this in next update. Having all cosmetics (minus Sea Dogs) unlocked (including some that are no longer available) might be the reason this thing is broken. Who knows, just praying for a remedy soon.
    Cheers

  • @d1no Another one!! Hello! I only play on PC and this was an issue for me from day one. I was new at online gaming and couldn't figure out how everyone else got dressed and equipped so fast. :-D
Like you I have purchased most of the emotes and don't usually bother with them. I will try your pet name fix, but don't have much hope. Nothing I've tried has helped, including building a new PC and doing a fresh install.
My best guess at this point is it originated when we rolled our characters. I thought when the equipment bug happened and lots of people were upset the answer might be found because there were more people involved and they were demanding a fix, but the only thing the update fixed for me was my shovel stayed equipped for one session...

  • @pollyoliverperk At the Outpost clothing store - try going to your Equipment chest, unequip everything. Click on first one and equip it. Exit out of chest and go to store clerk and press button to inspect inventory. Exit out of inventory. Now go and shoot yourself out of your ships cannon to take the mermaid back to ship. Now leave game and come back. See if that item you equiped stays.
I've tried this before and got my equiped items to stay between sessions. But only for Equipment. Clothes and Vanity items are not staying at all right now for me.

  • @pollyoliverperk I will say I am confident this will be eventually fixed. It is currently at the top of the Support/Known Issues page.

It was updated as recently as yesterday 12/30. I’m crossing fingers we can all forget about this after the next update. It will certainly help make it a Happy New Year for some of us!

  • @d1no OMG! Thanks for sharing this... I tried your suggested possible fixes with no luck ( I was really feeling some black despair after trying) this gives me some hope again.
I sail with streamers sometimes and they tease "Yeah, Polly comes in nekked, let's go watch Polly dress." I don't, but still, it's embarrassing dressing with 87 people watching, funny yes... but not fun for me. :-D
Happy New Year to you with your fingers crossed, it would certainly be fantastic if this was resolved for us.
My fingers are crossed as well! Hope Hope Hope, a girl can dream can't she?

  • sorry for my bad english I am also in your situation, I play exclusively on PC and after an update where they had inserted new clothes purchased by me (CRIMSON CORSAIR SEA DOG SHIRT) the game has no longer saved any of the following things graphic options emote pet names clothing equipment vanity favorite weapons now I don't know if it depends on the purchase of that damned shirt or something else (I had also unlocked the purple monkey, I remember trying to give her the name but this was not saved), but by buying and equipping her I noticed that the clothing of my PG was not updated after exiting the game I also tried to change appearance by spending money ... all unnecessary

  • Ahoy maties this has been fixed today!
