According to the patch notes -

Ashen Chest Stash Voyages – Stitcher Jim has retrieved a stash of Ashen Chests for himself, however, doesn’t hold enough Ashen Keys to unlock the tomes within. Within the Black Market, Stitcher offers players a Stash Voyage to collect a quick Ashen Chest straight from the Outpost. These Black Market Voyages can be purchased for either Doubloons or Gold and are repeatable to your heart’s content!

But when you look at the description for the voyage it states that it gives you a map indicating the location of a chest. What's the correct outcome of purchasing an Ashen Chest Stash Voyage?

The voyage isn't there...it should be one for the chest on the first page! I raise a support ticket for that...again!

But that's not the ones for the commendation...

The free voyages give commendations, the ones which cost doubloons/gold give the chest on an outpost for if you have too many keys, or just want a quicker voyage and can drop some currency.

@schwammlgott You're right. I believe the commendation comes from the legend voyage which is one of the four on the first page. One of the time limited ones.
I'm thinking of the other permanent voyage found in the other tabs.

Maybe that's not the one being refereed to here though. Seems like something is wrong and unfortunately I can't get on the game for another few hours. So I might not know what I'm talking about at the moment.

In the insider build a week ago there was the voyage, since a week it's gone...Rare f$#÷ed it up...as I said, I made a support ticket again (once in insider)

I ran one of the ashen chest voyages from the first page of Jim's inventory. The voyage that is for legends only. I received two x maps with five devil's roar trinkets each. Upon digging up the first and the 10th trinket, a wave of skeletons with a guardian spawned.

I died during the first fight and the guardian disappeared. This seems to happen when all the pirates on the island die thus causing a problem for solo players. The second fight gave me an x map for an ashen chest.

These voyages seem to not lead you to a chest, but a guardian that has the location of a chest.

That's the way it's suppose to be...but there should be a regular ashen chest voyage too, not only the one for legends...

Did you get the commendation when you finished the legendary one?

The other free non-legend voyages give you keys

The legend voyages gives you 2 chests

The chests and Keys can also be obtained from random Ashen Guardian and Key guardian spawns on islands

But there should have been a free voyage for the ashen chest!! Rare just forgot to implement it!

@schwammlgott I don't think the legend voyage was restricted in insider, so you probably did that one. There hasn't been a non-legend Chest voyage as far as I'm aware. The only way to get chests is to do the legend voyage, buy the stash voyage or sink the captain ship an Ashen Fleet. Random sloops and galleons can also drop an ashen chest (got one from a sloop last night).

OMG...how should I do the legendary ashen chest voyage without beeing a legend in insider? It is locked, when you're no legend...it always was like that...
I don't care about where to get those chests, I know where...I want the commendation be done

I did the regular one, I play this game alot, also the Insider so don't tell me what I "probably did"

By doing the legendary one? Ok, that's good, so I don't need to bother anymore if they implement it again or not 👍🏻

However you can also get ashen chests and keys from random spawned guardians which are quite prevelent currently

The legendary ones were locked for me in insider...
I know where to get those chests, I just want a solution for the commendation, but it seems the legendary one counts, so everything is fine...at least for me...

@captain-coel there was a regular one! In every mercenary voyage we got was a regular one and a legendary one! ALWAYS!

Edit: And I know there was one within this update because I did that voyage a week ago, but with the latest update it was gone!

I am definitly not, I know what I did...believe me or not...maybe Rare did this on purpose, but I still think, why should there ALWAYS, on EVERY mercenary voyage we had so far, be a regular version of the voyage and this time not...
