Can we pleeaaase make a second pirate

  • I've currently got a handsome, blonde man with a beard I like to call "Nervous Nebble", but each time I open the clothing store I see those pretty dresses and such, and, well, some of them don't look as good on Nebble's broad chest as they would on a lady pirate.

Would you please consider to allow us to make, at least, a second pirate?

  • @flareshock25 being able to make multiple pirates is a dream for roleplayers, and it would be amazing for dedicated players too. not everyone is able to spend 1000 hours on one charecter, especially when they are already max lvl and probs own everything in the game, and someone who has spent that much time on a charecter obviously wouldnt want to just delete that charecter, and so they are forced to get bored of the game and quit. i would love to be able to make multiple charecters, and im amazed that we still cant, honestly its crazy that we still cant, we still cant even change appearence. i mean if you arent gonna let us make new charecters without deleting them or making new accounts at least let us take a potion to change their appearance.

  • Yeah please im game over.
Im millionair pl10 giving away loot and totally bored.

I lost me greed im so dead.

I need a new sailor to level but i dont want to loose this one he is still hunting a invisible shark -.-

  • @d4m0r3d Notice us Rare!
There's definitely a want for another character slot, plus, only having "Delete" in the pirate options tab seems like a tease for new pirate slots.

It'd be soooo great to have multiple pirates with different styles, it'd increase replayability too.

  • Would be nice. Or even just a one time "re-role".

btw- Nervous Nebble can buy and wear all the Dresses that he wants. It's the new Millennium.

What's a bit more troubling is that, as a female pirate, I can buy and wear all the beards?? Which seems to suggest that they are all fake beards!

  • @flareshock25 @Ruigtand-NL @D4m0R3d @ViperishEmu2992 Two words: family share. Make a second Microsoft account and add it to your family. This will allow the second account to play game using the same license. I have 5 pirates.

  • @entspeak

I need to figure this out! I can be a sailor and have great exciting voyages :D

  • @flareshock25 I do believe they mentioned implementing a service in the pirate emporium where you can purchase a pirate makeover without deleting progress.

  • @flareshock25 Saw the Hunter dress, looks great, buuuut, still looks better if I had the option to make a second pirate who happens to be a lady.

  • @flareshock25 Then create a second, free Microsoft account and create a second pirate.

  • @entspeak mate, what if i want to role play, i would have to make like 5 accounts. 5 emails, 5 passwords, then i would have to remember what charecter is on what email, then i have to remember the password for that email, then i have to sign out and log on each time i want to play a different charecter. OR the devs could add the ability to make multiple pirates. i want my own crew, i want a fat guy, an old guy, a buff guy, a skinny guy, an old lady, a regular lady, watever ya know.

  • @sweltering-nick yea ages ago, idk if its ever coming, i mean i know nothing about code but is changing appearance that hard?? wouldnt most the code all already be there

  • This is fun! So i made a second account to level ( lost all me friends on the new account so still a second pirate would be better) but well its so much fun i called him " i aarrr friendly" :")

I aarr friendly even got to meet some pirates for the first time but they are friendly too xD

  • @d4m0r3d My goodness... you'd have to remember five passwords and five email addresses? Wow... that's sooooo difficult (dripping sarcasm). I created four additional email addresses named for the pirates I added (example: Pirate Name would be pirate.name at gmail), and I don't really have to remember five passwords because, after the first time logging in, the Xbox App remembers them for me. But, if you want it easier, just use the same password for each of them. You're only using them for SoT anyway. But, often, I just click the name I want to play that day and I'm logged in.

You have the ability to create multiple pirates easily right now. There's zero reason for the devs to spend time and money to create this sort of thing.

  • @ruigtand-nl Given that your Microsoft account is bound to your pirate, it tracks the progress of your pirate (including which cosmetics you own, codes you've used, miles you've sailed, voyages you've done), it's not so easy to simply add a second pirate to the same account.

  • @entspeak YES! This^^

A simple potion to change your appearance would be the best way round this imho.

  • @dreadpirate9200 The OP is talking about having a new pirate - to be able to start the journey over from the beginning. The RP thing can be done the same way. If the devs are considering a means of changing your appearance without losing progress or having to create a new account, it'll likely cost money.

  • @entspeak I understand that, thanks. Although, the 'OP' only mentioned about his current character not suiting all the outfits. The point on starting as a Sailor again was only mentioned later.

But as previously said, the best way to start all over is to crate a new account. Mentioned above.

I was mainly touching on the point that if you want your pirate to wear dresses, and suit them, then a potion to re-roll the character would be better than a second pirate slot. And of course this would incur a cost, whether its from the pirate emporium or from duke (dubloons or gold) is up to RARE.

    Thanks though.

  • @dreadpirate9200 I suppose Rare could just add some Polyjuice potion. Feels silly in this game, but... who knows. But, then, I actually took time to pick a pirate I wanted for the long haul the first time round.

  • @entspeak mate listen, it is stupid for me to have to do this. i should not have to make 5 google accounts fffs. why cant they just add a pirate wheel where you log in, scroll the pirate wheel and pick the pirate you want to play for today, when you log in it would take you to "your crew" and then you pick the pirate you want to use. this mechanic would make the game feel better, look better. it would be a quality of life improvement. like imagine telling someone who doesnt play sea of thieves that you need to make another account to play another pirate. they would laugh and ask why cant you just have multiple pirates on one account. its more enticing for player replayability if the option to have multiple pirates was in game and not an exterior thing. to have multiple pirates rn you have to make new accounts and game share, thats not sea of thieves doing anything thats microsoft. how about the devs do something in the game so that we dont have to go out of game to get this shiz done

  • @entspeak say i die in game, i want to be able to rage quit to menu, click my crew, pick a new pirate and start a new adventer. i dont want to have to close the game, log out of my account, sign into a new one, reload the game, just to start with a different pirate. and what happens if im on game, and i dont have any other pirates, i gotta log of, log out, come up with an email and password, comfirm that account, link it to my other account, log into both accounts to accept, log into the new account on the xbox app, load the game, and start creating a new character. idk about you but this is tedious and stupid, compared to just being able to go to menu, click my crew, then new pirate. it would be stupid to believe making new accounts would be better than having the ability to create multiple pirates in game.

  • @entspeak

Its just coding? They should fix it that would be nice. Now im constantly switching accounts for xbox, forum, discord, email on my mobile thats annoying.

But well it works i have 2 pirates now.. if only i had 2 xbox then one account could server hop to get animal voyages that would be nice🤔

Are there any rules or restrictions around having multiple accounts? Im getting all kind of silly ideas...

  • @entspeak HAHAHA! Exactly, but would we need to still collect the hair of a pirate we want to look like? haha! jk

I also spent ages on the wheel and found a Pirate I was really happy with, so no complaints there. But after changing hair and stuff I do wish my nose was smaller. But if anything I think this adds to the realism of the game, everyone has things they would like to change about there appearance irl.

@D4m0R3d I gotta totally disagree with you here.
Picking a pirate at the start of every match would really ruin the immersion for me. I love my character and I've even created a little back-story/origin for him. He's grown and developed since i started playing and become an effigy of myself almost.
If you were to explain the game to someone new you would tell them to take time picking their character, because once you are born into the world there's no going back. This is you for the rest of the game.
If you insist on making a second profile, then you cant just lay-claim to all the liveries and outfits the previous character worked for.

I'm still stuck on a potion, id maybe even only make it available to PLs and give it a little quest to do to make one.
    Just my 2 pence :)

  • @dreadpirate9200 "If you insist on making a second profile, then you cant just lay-claim to all the liveries and outfits the previous character worked for." im not quite sure i understand what you mean, are you insinuating that if the ability to have multiple pirates was in the game you would be able to lay claim to all the gear your other pirates have, because i dont think they would do that.

"Picking a pirate at the start of every match would really ruin the immersion for me. I love my character and I've even created a little back-story/origin for him." this would be the same even if you could have multiple pirates.

"If you were to explain the game to someone new you would tell them to take time picking their character because once you are born into the world there's no going back. This is you for the rest of the game." not true, you can delete your pirate and start over, you can create other accounts and have other pirates.

you mention positives of being forced into having one pirate, but these positives still stick when you can have multiple. imagine growing to love your whole crew, ofcoarse you would have a captain who would be your main, you would create a backstory for each individual character, and how they all got into your crew. if anything the positives you mention are only expanded upon.

a negative i experienced when being forced into having one charecter, was playing with that charecter lvling up to lvl 40 each faction, and hating my charecter to the point where i quit the game for months. i came back later deleted my charecter, and started over again. i spent probs 2 hours or more finding the perfect charecter and yet again after i got to around 40 for all factions i grew tired of that pirate, and so i once again deleted them and restarted. it was then that i finaly found a pirate who lasted till legend, i got him to PL and then i got bored with the game, not the charecter, i do like my PL, but at this point i feel like continuing my adventure as a new pirate, although i do not want to delete my pirate cause i dont want to lose all his progress, so i quit the game for probebly 3 or 6 months, and come back, i realise i can create multiple microsoft accounts to make another pirate without deleting the old, i currently love my new pirate, but i really miss my original pirates. and i want pirates like my old ones. sometimes i want to experience different playstyles. for example a fat guy plays completely different to skinny player models, as a skinny guy you can tuck, as a fat guy you cannot, but the fat guy provides more of a comedic journey imo, they are still fun. anyways what im saying is, the ability to have more than one pirate is overall positive, as it increases the games replayability, and still provides the positives you mentioned of having one pirate. i dont like the idea of potions and im suprised you do, i believe if we are gonna get a potion it should only be early game, to me i wonder why you would want to change the person you got to PL with if you have built such a strong bond with them. oh and btw my PL pirate is Red Beard, felt i had to do it cause of my name. my new guy is still developing

  • I've been waiting forever for a re-roll option. Most MMO/RPG/FPS that allow you to customize your character have a way to go back and change later on. Not sure why they are holding this off for so long, maybe it'll be announced with the next update? idk

  • I get that I could just make a new account and start over there, but.
Not sure if I have to re-buy the game considering the Microsoft account is linked to the Store and the game is not bought on this new account, I'd guess.

So, I'd rather keep playing, and maybe they'll add in that slot at the pirate emporium.

  • @d4m0r3d yes. im tired of my pirate being chungy

  • @flareshock25 you dont have to re buy the game, you just have to fam share the game with the new account. but its all still an anoying hastle

  • @ninjashadow2 i was the same, i had a fat guy, loved him at first. then i grew to hate him. next pirate i made was the opposite of him, but i ended up regretting deleting my fat guy cause i missed him and his skins

  • @d4m0r3d I mean i like how my fat guy looks there is nothing bad about him hes a very nice looking chungy boi but i liked him for a while and now i'm bored of him and with all of these cosmetics and stuff coming out the cool stuff doesn't look good on him and i really want to change to something better. I really hope they add a way to change player models without losing progress. In my opinion they should allow you to change your pirate when ever you want but it costs ancient coins.

  • @ninjashadow2 yea but if you were given the ability to create a new pirate, you would lvl up and miss your old. then you would go back to your old one refreshed. after you play the game a while you will learn, levels mean nothing. i mean all they do for you is give you athena voyages which honestly i find boring. i think having to pay real money to change your player model would be alright as long as we also have the option to just create another pirate. that way you arent forced to pay for something, but you can make a new pirate and restart.

  • @d4m0r3d I agree with that but i have alot of the exclusives they added like the megaladon tatoo when that was a thing for hungering deep and the OG bone crusher set and also some other cosmetics like the black dog for pre ordering and the bone crusher ship skin for beating the cursed sails update. I don't really care about leveling up. But I would rather stay on 1 account and it would be cool if you can switch between 2 models. Like between your new one and your old one but to switch you may have to pay doubloons or more ancient coins or something. Just a thought.

  • @ninjashadow2 if you had 2 pirates, its not like your original pirate would lose those things. and i dont think thats fair to force people to pay to swap, like i said, i think its ok to have a potion that lets you change your PL appearence, as long as you could just chose to create another pirate without having to delete your old pirate. people like you would still buy the appearance change because you want to use your exclusive skins or watever, and dont want to have to lvl up again and for watever other reasons. but other pirates like me would prefer to just create another pirate from lvl 0

  • This be the reason I dont judge pirates by appearances.
But heck, you see your male pirate crew wearing fancy dresses...the sea tends to put a spin on the mind.

  • @i-aarr-friendly

    it's just coding?

Yes. Just coding. That's all games are... just coding. Easy as pie, right? Could do it tomorrow. (sarcasm alert)
