    I do not like arena and just play adventure. That being said, I am currently level 23 in sea dogs. With the changes to letters coming, I was considering buying out the rest of the levels so I wouldn't need to grind arena and could stick to adventure.

    However it looks as though the pirate legend weapons and sea dog outfits are tied to at least 100 wins, so if I wanted those cosmetics (which I do) I would need to grind arena anyway. I assume with getting all those wins I would be close to 50 anyway and the buying levels once a month at that stage would not be the biggest deal. If that is all true, it does not seem worth it to spend the 1000 db on letters now just to get the weapons early.

    Just trying to figure out if I'm missing something or if the logic makes sense.

    I should also note I'm sitting on 1500 db right now, but that doesn't mean I want to waste them (especially with the new store and cost of items) or not use them efficiently/get the most out of them.

    Just wondering what you guys may be doing and advice/thoughts you might have on my situation. Any help you could provide me on this decision would be greatly appreciated.

    Wait for sloop arena, will be a more enjoyable experience.

    It’s my understanding that it takes 240 wins for the PL weapons.

    It was 240, then they change it to 100, then back to 240 because people were mad...like usual.

    It’s also my understanding that once you do get up to 240 wins you’ll be in the mid 40s.

    With all that said. If you want the weapons you should just stick it out with Arena. If you just want the boat and title, but the letters while you can.

    Arena can be super fun, but it’s just so incredibly hit or miss. If you’ve got a good crew that will stick around it can be fun. But so often you’ve got crew mates that wanna boss everyone around like they them selves programmed the Arena, then they rage quit if you don’t have 10k point lead in the first five minutes.

    On the other hand, if you don’t have a good crew of four you can just about give up winning. The crew set up is always all over the place. You might have the only full crew and blow everyone else out of the water so bad it’s kinda boring. Or you might only have two or three people and another full crew takes the win basically as soon as the game starts.

    Again, it’s just all so so all over the place in terms of overall fun. You just gotta figure out what it is you want.

    I just spent 1500 doubloons to buy 50 levels in Sea Dogs. I've never played Arena and never will either. It is the first time I have ever bought any levels but I had plenty of doubloons anyway and after the next update it will take 4 years and 2 months to buy that many levels at 1 per month. I am hoping there may be something added to the game in the future for those of us that have achieved 50/50/50/50/50/10.
    I have resigned myself to the fact that I will never get those Pirate Legend weapons because they are tied to the Arena wins (unless RARE ever sees their error and corrects it so they are obtainable in Adventure as they should be anyway). So if you do want them you're gonna need to get those Arena wins unfortunately. Sad that they are locked behind Arena but that's not something I can change.

    Yeah. And if you want the Wimbledon singles trophy on your mantlepiece, you have to go and win that tennis championship! Same with Olympic gold: You have to earn it!

    Why do Sea of Thieves players think they should be entitled to every commendation and related cosmetic, when they are not willing to:

    • Play certain aspects of the game?
    • Play consistently, so they do not miss out on time-limited stuff?
    • Accept that some things (e.g. defeating the Shrouded Ghost) are a matter of peristence and/or luck?

    Some commendations - and the related cosmetics - are there to reward achievement. They are special because you had to earn them a certain way. Just like a Wimbledon trophy, or an Olympic gold medal!

    Alternatively, why don't we just give every new pirate every available item of clothing, every available weapon & piece of equipment, and every ship livery on Day One? That way they wont even have to even set sail!

    But seriously the whole point is you can achieve PL status without playing Arena but you can't get those PL weapons unless you do play Arena. The only sense that decision makes is bribery to play the Arena mode. I'm just asking for the option to achieve them in Adventure too.

    @timboagogo Never say never. Maybe, in the future, they add new ships (sloops and brigs), they add more game modes to play etc. So maybe in the future, you will play arena, and you will be able to get those PL weapons.

    Imo you are making the argument fit what you want the outcome to be.

    The Arena cosmetic weapons are for Arena achievements.

    There are cosmetics in Sea of Thieves you do not get for playing Arena.

    No reason for them to be achieved in SOT.

    If you want the Trophy for winning the F1 world title you have to drive in F1. You cannot earn that Trophy driving in NASCAR.

    I think Dabloons will be worth even less after the next update than they are today. Even more easily earned. No point saving them.

    I think the only surprise people will have when the next update comes, is how few new cosmetics Rare bring out. So do not save your dubs imo.

    In your case I would say use them to buy letters for Sea of Thieves rather than Arena. If you have an Sea of Thieves levels get to do?

    Arena is garbage and there is only a very limited cosmetic set for wasting hours of your life suffering through it.

    i bought it 17 for hunters call and 19 for the arena ,do it until its to late;),even when sloop arena comming out the last levels will be a long grind

    I really don't care about anything "ARENA" and am happy to miss out on ALL the Sea Dog cosmetics. The weapon set I referred to is the Pirate Legend Set! The purple Pirate Legend Weapon Set available from the Legend Hideout.

    Not sure if you noticed but you can’t get pirate legend shovel, compass, tankard, lantern, or telescope without doing the 3 other factions. So I don’t see the big deal in having to do sea dogs to get the weapons. @SurveyorPete nailed this 100% you are only upset because it’s a difficult task and you don’t want to do it.

    Good news is the pirate legends set is tied into arena and because you’d aid you’d be happy to miss out on anything related to arena then I guess issues resolved.
