How do Xbox players do the swinging sword while running? I see players do this (PC i assume) but when I swing I stop moving!

  • Can only PC players do this move?

  • @contentzilla Everybody can swing their sword while moving. You just can repeatedly swing it without connecting to someone.

Yes I know I can run and swing sword, but for me at least on the Xbox One S when I run and then swing I then stop moving. However, I keep coming up against players that are able to constantly run and swing sword at same time. Is this a cheat or something only PC players can do or am I missing something?

  • @contentzilla It's not a cheat or exclusive to PC. Maybe it's your controller? Are you hitting anything when you swing your sword (the environment)? That might cause you to stop moving. Not sure, though.

  • I can confirm as an Xbox player that I can swing and move. When I work on forts I guard a door and run pretty much in a tiny circle swinging like hell.

  • And this is how the stories of the fabled PC hacking Gods are born.

  • Run or sprint? The two are very differnt.

  • There is nothing you can do on PC what you cannot do with a controller.

Sprint I think, when I click down on my joystick i do a sprinting animation i think but as soon as i swing the sword i stop dead and can't move until the swing animation is done.

  • a good skilled pc player vs good skilled console player, the pc player is always in advantage, they just swing the sword 360 style and move around you pretty fast..its more annoying than a shootout one on one

Yes yes yes, this! I keep coming across players every now and then who can just fly around me without stopping while swinging the sword. And there doesn't seem to be a way to counter because by the time I turn to my other side to TRY and block they have already completed the slash and have moved through me to me other side, like they are inside of my constantly basically.

  • @contentzilla hold block before you trigger the lunge, it will have you holding normal walking speed

Not really, as a PC player I dont swing wildly because if you miss your swings now your open for counter attack.

Hey maybe you know. As a PC player while running/sprinting (what ever verbiage is correct here) when you swing your sword do you stop running or does it allow you to continue to run without stopping?

  • @contentzilla You can move while swinging but the run or sprint is not allowed while swinging, you get slowed down to basic movement speed.

Edit and to add this is the same for everyone. PC does not mean we get special abilities.

Weird, I've come across more than one player, not a lot maybe a half dozen or so that seem to be able to still run/sprint while swinging their sword, they seem to almost bounce (even though they aren't jumping) from my right and left and back again so fast that I can't get a block in and because they're landing their swings I can't move forward or backward and can only turn. Maybe this is a glitch or a cheat?

  • @contentzilla Yeah theres some combat videos about this online. You can also block with the sword and do a dodge hop to the side. Maybe check into the YouTube videos.

Not curious about the block or dodge from side to side moves as I am aware of those movements. Can you provide link of combat videos showing people constantly running and swinging sword without stopping their run/sprint movements?

  • @contentzilla As I have said there isnt a way to fight while sprinting. I do not have your eyes and was not there so I can not speak to what you saw unless you have a video of it. Eye witness testimony is usually some of the worst type of testimony. I would just look up all pvp combat videos for sea of thieves and look at how they fight. Look for some good combat guides and you can look at how they move. Just do some simple youtube searches. Just remember that combat has been changing and not to look at older videos.

So you come here to debate what you admit to having not seen? You say eye witness testimony isn't reliable so as to dismiss what I say. You say I should look at videos about combat so as to seem helpful I guess. I just looked at your previous posts and you seem to get into a lot of arguments around here. At this point I'd appreciate you not replying to me going forward because you seem like the typical PC player around here that is riding on a oh so high horse. Is there a block feature on this forum? Time to go look.

  • @contentzilla Really? I suggested you look at combat videos as I am not you and cant say what you saw or think you saw. You keep asking if I can sprint and keep attacking while sprinting and I said no I cant. I asked if you had video as maybe its a bug or hack yet you then insult me for trying to help? What is with people lately. You look at my other posts and think you know me yet maybe I'm tired of everyone who doesn't understand what a PC is in 2019.

Also what is this first sentence, I come here to debate what I have not seen? No I was not there when you witnessed whatever you think you did. So your upset I wasn't behind you looking at your fight? You think PC players have some special perks that xbox doesn't so already your judgement is not good but thanks for insulting someone trying to help. Also you can find the block function by unplugging your internet.

  • If your playing with a controller and you want to keep up with PC you need to go into settings and crank your sensitivity. Up your general sensitivity as well as each of the weapons. Try to get the sensitivity to match across the board.

If you want to see the difference, plug a keyboard and mouse into your xbox. Do a 360 with the mouse. Then do a 360 with the controller. The mouse is 5x faster if not more. PC can jump around, get behind you, circle etc while you are busy just trying to turn and get them back on screen.

  • @dilliam53 Yeah that wasn't his question though, He thinks PC players can sprint and swing their sword while continuing to sprint and they cant.
