Blunderbuss is really ruining pvp in this game you can't even get near someone without being killed one shot by a blunderbuss especially in arena this needs to get a major nerf less accuracy and lower damage is a must. That fact that people can hop around and get blunder hits on you is redicoulous you don't have to have any skill to use it please fix this weapon.

I think blunderbuss is fine its only from really close a killer but they jump and run around prety fast so its not so easy to stick it in their face..
I think sword block is way to slow and jumping and running with a weapon could use a slow down somehowxD but well the melee is not really a problem i think im more bothered by how to play with a open crew -.-

It would be overpowered if you could get long ranged one shot kills, but you can't. You have to be in close quarters, and all 10 pellets have to hit in order to one shot.
Additionally, you can't just hipfire on whatever's in front of you to one shot them because the pellets spread more with a hipfire as opposed to ADS.
All I have to do to avoid getting one-shotted by a blunderbuss is pay attention, keep my distance, and then kill them off with my flintlock. E Z.
You're probably getting one-shotted when someone boards while you're on the cannons and you don't see them coming. But here's the thing: if they catch you on the cannons, you're dead if they're halfway decent at PvP. It doesn't matter what weapon loadout they're using.
Blunderbuss cannot be used for anything other than close range combat, which definitely has it's downsides as with every weapon in its element. Previously, the blunderbuss was basically useless. I'm glad it's been given a more defined role now.
@chronodusk so I originally was using the sniper decided screw it I'll try blunder haven't had anyone even be able to board or get me off their ship when I board killed an entire crew with the blunder might as well take advantage of the weapon while it is in its current state I guess.
@chronodusk I mean if it disn't have the chance to one shot at least someone would have to reload or swing their sword and give the other team a chance to do something but since I can one shot kill with it literally just sit and wait for people to respond on their boat rack up the commedation kills

I think this is more of a hit-detection issue with the server, than an issue with the weapon itself.
@fast-bike94 Haha yup, I killed someone with the sniper the other day that wasn't even in my scope. On the other hand I've also gotten 4 hitmarkers on the same person without them healing or dying.
Also sword play has basically become a ping contest in the latest patch, and I never have below 150 so I just stick to guns if possible.
I feel it important to hop in here and disagree with the blunderbuss taking no skill. I tried the area a few days ago for the first time and played 4 matches. I used the blunder 3 of the 4 and didn't get a single kill with it, at best only knocking back climbers. So, I have no skill and cannot kill with it. Point made, pride intact.
I think that the only time blunderbuss is really that powerful, is in defending your ship.. Otherwise it’s relatively useless in comparison to the other weapons. Someone pulls out a blunderbuss, take two steps back and pull out a pistol. Sure it makes boarding difficult because of the knockback, but unless you’re within kissing distance, the blunderbuss really does not deal much damage. And in the water it’s completely useless, on an island, etc.. It’s strong in close quarters ship combat, and I feel like that’s how it’s meant to be.
