My crew accuired a shroud-breaker, at the start of our tall tales quest when we ran into another crew. We brought it back to two different outposts, we cannot sell it. Our theory is that we have a desync/we arent far enough in our tall tales the shroudbreaker so we cannot turn it in. any feedback would help! thank you!
i Stole a shroudbreaker.. cant sell it.
@billythetort You can only turn in your own quest items. This was done in the hopes of reducing outrage that would result from other crews stealing quest items and trying to sell them. Sadly, however, crews still can steal and hold onto them preventing the owners from completing the quest. Just today my buddies and I had this occur at Plunder's Outpost. They killed us repeatedly after stealing our Briggsy's skull (who honestly needs a nerf) before we harpooned their ship and retaliated. We managed to sink them, but also sank. Given that it was rather late, my friends and I had to log off. Honestly, it is individuals like that who I can only wish the worst upon, but it is unfortunately part of the game.
@sargent-sully Im very sorry that happend to you man. But I think my crew earned the one we got fair and square, and litterly the games name is called "sea of thieves", so we should be able to turn this in. this is frusterating indeed.
@sargent-sully How does Briggsy need a nerf? Just killed her with my wife and neither of us even had to eat anything, fight lasted maybe 15 seconds. We were kind of shocked how easy it was.
@starquest @Sargent-Sully same. Fought Briggsy solo and didnt have any issues. Had to heal a few times but didnt die or anything.
@starquest @Jza16 Took her on with a galleon crew of four. It seems she scales with the player count. We fired more than 30 cannon balls into her and it still didn't kill her. Fight lasted around 7 minutes.
@sargent-sully Really? I used nothing but my sword to cut him and his several waves of his crew down in just a few minutes. If you're right then I'm glad I did it solo lol
@billythetort weird thing happened to me. I was doing the 2nd tall tale and I ran into another crew. We decided to be friendly and ended up getting the same island for part of our quest. the issue was that only one skelly spawned and only dropped one key. So we used the one key on the chest that I got and the crew I was with didn't get to progress in the tale. They had to abandon and start over :( would have been cool if we could have shared progress, or if two keys dropped.
@jza16 Yeah, going to try it solo today. Honestly if my theory is right, especially given everything others have said about the fight including video footage, then it is the easiest way to do it. I've seen a galleon crew take about 5 minutes to do it on youtube, but then a two man group do it in about 2 and a half minutes.
@sargent-sully good luck! Curious to know if it is scaled or not for future quests especially since other voyages like OoS definitely aren't scaled to # of players. Let me know how it goes. Was thinking too maybe that crew was immune to cannonballs for some reason? No real indication of a different type of skelly but could be the case.
@jza16 Sorry for not giving feedback sooner. Went with a solo sloop to fight Briggsy. Killed within 2-3 minutes with 3 coconuts and 1 pomegranate used. Compared to the near 10 minutes with a galleon crew, it definitely seems like the sloop is the way to go for completing the "Legend" challenge (complete 5x times).
