I think the average numbers in the top right show how many accounts are not playing, or have not played in a long time. Average player encountered 2 Krakens, 7 Megs, and has only salvaged 8 shipwrecks? There must be a lot of low playtime accounts, or accounts that quit prior to Shrouded Spoils, because that sounds like a casual playtime weekend :D
Exactly most people who tried Sea of Thieves do not keep playing it. Millions tried it and sailed past the Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves boasts about millions of copies sold. Reality is only a very small amount of players have kept sailing. Not a great statistic to have the vast majority of players who purchased your game not to like it and do not play.
There is a very small core that has stuck around. Many of these have even dropped anchor and left. My spouse, friends, and I can see this in just one play session.
It is ok that Sea of Thieves is not a mass hit. It never will be. That opportunity has sailed. The reputation of issues with solid content and especially player toxicity will always keep it from being that. Groveling for the Twitch crowd by changing the game in favor of more PvP is just going to make it all worse.
