Arena was so much better that it is incomparable. Its vibe, its feeling, the Sea Dogs faction, its music and dialogue, and the fact that everybody had the same supplies and nobody had to worry about or spend time collecting them made it far more enjoyable. It also was not set in the depressing color palette of the Sea of the Damned. Even its lobbies were more fun than actually playing LSS.
LSS is so incredibly bad that it is hard to understand how these decisions were made. Rare has to understand that even in PvP, the overwhelming majority of players want fairness and not random factors. Why are there rocks everywhere? Why is the final circle so incredibly small? Do the people making these decisions even play the game a decent amount, or at least understand what players who enjoy PvP actually like?
The idea of a shrinking circle, which came from battle royale games, was to force people to engage, not to fight over a tiny minuscule area. And why is it always in the same place? Why is there a massive rock there? When I see TDM players already camping that area, they are not the ones to blame. The blame is on whoever allows these things to happen.
Please Rare, listen to the player base. Do not be so stubborn and scrap this incredibly bad game mode and bring back Arena. At least have the minimum awareness of what people who enjoy dedicated PvP modes actually like and want.
