Safer Seas

  • Thank you again for Safer Seas. I love being able to just relax and go treasure hunting. Never was a fan of ship to ship battle. Could you switch cashing in to the emissary dock. A big hassle and Pointless not to.

The big purple tent tower that you can turn all your loot into at once? (Sovereigns)

  • @captainluke56 I brought up the same topic your talking about, but look at you sitting here with no lock. That just proved my point.

  • Never was a fan of ship to ship battle.

So you don't even fight skeleton or phantom ships either? Same thing.

Could you switch cashing in to the emissary dock. A big hassle and Pointless not to.

You make it a hassle, go to Sanctuary Outpost. All the faction posts are closer and you can use the harpoon to quickly run back and forth.

  • @burnbacon Safer Seas needs to be a private PvE server. “Invite only sessions” didn’t make “GTA Online” any less popular.

It doesn't. This is not GTA V.

Feel free to migrate if you can't cope with the SoT ideology.

Pirate game clearly designed with player conflict in mind. Try it sometime.

“Never been a fan of ship battles”

Bought a pirate game clearly designed for ship battles.

  • @littlelungzz591

Made game less busy and less people to drive gangs with. Since everyone was in there own pocket world.
I bougtht the game for how it was sold, Im sorry you wanted the game to be another SP game with co-op.

  • @littlelungzz591 When they add flying bikes with homing missiles maybe

  • yea now all they need to do is let us progress on it. but they are too stupid and the pvp crowd is too dumb to understand how much money safer seas would make Rare to actually benefit the whole player base and keep this game alive. instead we keep getting updates with cut content. a whole season coming dedicated to player generated content that has 0 progression in it. dont get me wrong the custom seas tools are neat. but its not a map editor. its not going to create its own mini games as its giving us control over some elements but not enough to make our own islands or ocean to be able to really do things in. like imagine placing rock arches around the map and making a race course where you gotta be the 1st to sail through all the arches. but nah. this game from day 1 has all about earning cosmetics and they are banking on a new mode that has none of that. because they cant learn from history. if you cant learn from your mistakes you are doomed to repeat it. and they have been repeating the same mistakes time and time again. 3% of the player base plays safer seas because theres - progression, 3% of the player base played arena because there was no progression aside from tedious and annoying commentioned to ear 1 ugly cosmetic set. then updated ONE time to bring us a recolor of that ugly cosmetic set which you cant even progress on unless you are using the 1st ugly cosmetic set with was too tedious to grind. just to add a color black and dark red variation of that cosmetic to the PvE side of the game... now that set people would have gone nuts for to earn in the arena. but them recently announcing they are no longer adding features after custom seasons. its all about focusing on bringing back old content and working on making more of a recurring event rotation to try and keep people coming back week to week, month to month. because adding new content isnt retaining players but having events does spike the player base up a little.

without proper pve servers this game is sinking fast. it needs a huge injection of cash. pve players are where all the whales are at. embrace that fact or join the titanic

  • @captainluke56 we didn't have the sovereign for a long time in game and had people chasing us and we had to sell the items to each individual Emissary. Being in safer seas you don't have other ships chasing you so you don't have that issue of needing to quickly sell. You can just park at an outpost and sell your items and never be bothered by anyone. The Sovereign is part of the captained ships and in order to use it you need to go into high seas.

Do tell how that is good for a PvPvE game. Because even the PvP-only group will jump ship to play only PvE servers with friends and full progress. How would this make money? Drinks Grog another game is dying again.

  • @elmo6842 “It used to be hard, now since it’s not hard anymore it’s to easy” what kinda backwards thinking is that honestly.

  • @littlelungzz591

It was once difficult, meaning hard. But they watered it down to make it simple. So it's no longer difficult or hard.
Has 'difficulty' become something modern gamers cant even comprehend?

If you spent 3 seconds to think about it, it would've made sense to you.

It's simple, try it. Like this:

    1. something was hard (as in past tense), and it's not anymore
    2. because it's not hard anymore, it is easy now.

The only backwards thinking is acting entitled, drama posting, and expecting everything to be handed to you on a silver platter and unlocked in 3 days of playtime. As in - it's immature and cringe.

But what do I know. 😂

  • @roborob-r66y

if you cant learn from your mistakes you are doomed to repeat it. and they have been repeating the same mistakes time and time again.

Boy oh boy, you would know all about it, wouldn't you eh Robo? 😂

Saying this after the other statement above is peak irony 😭 And we all know how often you've said it lol.

If I may boldly suggest - you, Luke and Lungzy should prolly form a guild. Seems like you'd be getting along great in SS. 😁 It's just too bad that SS doesn't have guilds, but you get my meaning.

The old “give me what I want so that rare gets rich” post.

How long do you think new players are going to be entertained by left clicking skeletons with zero risk in a game designed for player interaction and conflict? You just might be the exception (maybe you’d left click for years), but I’d bet that most wouldn’t be satisfied by that for long.

I don’t see how dumbing down a PvPvE game into a Netflix & sail simulator equates to riches for rare. But as you said, we’re all just “too dumb” to see your vision.

  • The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.

The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.
