Hunters Call Emissary

    Hey not sure this has been said but i think a hunters call emissary could be fun. Personally me and my friends enjoy going on fishing trips, but the whole faction just isn't rewarding. I feel like it could be revamped properly with some nice cosmetics and just more content as a whole. It's already a faction in the game so why not just improve it.

    Leveling the emissary would obviously involve catching fish, megs and kraken. Hunters call voyages could send you to catch specific fish which you would need specific bait for or better yet, megs!

    Voyage exclusive fish could also be added and use different types of bait like raw snake, chicken , pork etc.. And obviously need to be caught in a specific part of the map like the current fish.

    Some emissary rewards for lvl5 could include:

    • Meg Locations
    • Funnily enough what was added this update "the ability to see the fish being caught"
    • Faster Reel Times as the emissary lvls up
    • Kraken Locations

    I'm sure there are many more things that can be thought up, just my two cents from being a hunters call fan :)

    I'm sure we've discussed adding some voyages to The Hunter's Call, but I don't remember talking about emissary.

    Personally, I don't think they are a big enough organization to offer emissary flags. The other trading companies seem much more advanced and organized in their own efforts. They have representatives on each outpost, while The Hunter's Call can only be found on sea posts.

    I think it will be very nice if we had some voyages for HC. But not emissaries. Not before they grow into an actual trading company.

    Also, I didn't see you mentioning anything else but fish in your post, so perhaps you didn't know that you can turn in all kinds of cookable food to HC, not only fish. They also accept blue/green/red gems.

    I agree that maybe an emissary might be a little sophisticated fo the hunters call! Although the idea stems from a lack of content / rewards from them. I understand that so far they seem a little like a place do dump ur cooked food or gems for a commendation, but it kinda just ends up feeling exactly like that...dumping ur cooked food or gems. Thats why i thought it might be a good idea to have a sort of rewarding system for focusing your attention on the HC, and since emissaries seem like the system in place i went with it :d i guess some meg hunting voyages, or i guess chicken hunting on that thought could be a great start! But having something like the emissary ledger rewards would make it feel a lot more satisfying when grinding it out. Maybe something like a fishermans flag would suffice rather than a representative of the organisation ;)

    @wakemantv I guess my point is that the flag doesn't have to be implemented the same , but just having a system that multiplies ur rewards for grinding it or at least slowly tracking your "sales" progressing towards cosmetics like the other faction ledgers would be nice :)

    @wakemantv IMO there has to be a counter to the bonus value you get as an emissary, with fish you're able to carry around 5 items per crewmember that are not stealable, so the only thing an opponent might get is the flag.

    Kraken locations - she only spawns when there is no world event, so would that be a message to her location when that happens or should she appear especially for emissaries ?

    Faster reel times - Goldhoarders who are high level don't dig faster, skellies don't die easier when an Order of Souls emissary slays them.

    @lem0n-curry Good point on the fact that they can be held on you tbh i didn't think about that. Just to be clear by no means do i think those should all be implemented , just some ideas i spitballed tbh. It came from the idea that a lvl5 reaper is rewarded by seeing all the emissaries on a map. So maybe it would be cool to hunt down/track a meg , then obviously the meg rewards could also be a reward to an enemy ship sinking you + your flag. This could also be implemented as a voyage if the emissary idea isn't too popular :)

    To add to this, unless players drop their inventory in a pouch, emissary for hunter's call would be a bit OP from a gold making perspective alone. Some of those fish are worth over 10k gold and can just be kept on their person for safety. Add an emissary bonus and all of a sudden a player can keep 125k gold safe on them worth of loot.

    I honestly think this should change anyway. Supplies are plentiful and easily obtained these days. This would add a bit of risk to it by potentially losing your cursed cannons or good food if you are killed while off your ship. Might even be enough to rebalance boarding too.

    @kommodoreyenser I guess there would be some balancing issues / balancing precautions taken into consideration too. But i guess it doesn't mean that the faction isn't "underpowered" compared to other factions and could use a little update to make it more interesting :) As of right now it feels a little neglected as a faction as a whole
