The people who started a game should be given the title captain. This title would allow the player to brig anyone on the crew. It wouldn't really change much for brigintine or galleon but would give sloops a way to fight toxic players. This title can be passed on by choice of the captain to promote a crew mates or if the captain leaves the player that's been their the longest will be automatically promoted
I know what your all thinking or will ask. Doesn't that give too much to 1 person which normally would be true. But captains on a ship was always a necessary to have a final decision on the ship of what goes. And this requires trust from the crew for the captain to make the right choices. If the crew lost this trust they either left the crew or munited.
So the rest of the crew would power check the captain by getting the munity option which removes the title of Captain and gives it to a random crewmate. This vote will be unanimous of 2 or 3 players even those in the brig can vote
Captains
-get to vote others in and out of brig
- can promote someone else of their choice to captain
Crewmates
- 2 or 3 players can vote for munity which forces captain to switch to another player
Arguments for
- allows sloops to take away the fighting power if toxic players
- literally nothing else would change other than constantly casting votes for mutiny
Arguments against
- captain can brig anyone by himself. True but if the other players don't vote for munity then it's the same as if they all voted to brig.
- unfair to people that randomly join sloop games. True but is it fair to work hard to get a dozen peices of loot just to have a random join and force your ship to sink?
