Treat Siren's Skull like Chest of Fortune each Season

  • I love the new voyage. My watch told me once that I had a very high resting heart rate at one point. I feel like this particular voyage tests almost every one of your piratical skills.

I hope we can continue to earn Siren Song cosmetics each season to keep us engaged with the event.

This way, folks won't stop engaging after hitting 30 skulls.

We have to keep the events alive for when folks come off safer seas in January/February!

  • I think it would work very well for this content.

It's beautifully designed for adventure. Imo it's their best risk/reward content at release date. As something that adds to the overall environment it fits perfectly.

Agreed. I think the reward end could use some tweaking - something like emissary rep like that of a siren's gem, but substantial.

I also hope they continue to add and change key locations in the voyage. I was really starting to see a pattern and one session I had to turn in at Shipwreck Bay 3 times...

  • Very good idea!

    Coral cosmetics for skelly course.
Some fine merfolk/suken thamed items for rest.

  • I'm half and half in thinking if you add guild rep for it then you extend some longevity to this event

    BUT
The fact it doesn't count for guild rep I suspect has led to more people using lfgs and grouping up with randoms again as it doesn't matter whose ship or guild you're sailing for.

I think if it counted towards reputation and ledger for whatever Emissary you are representing, that could be a nice middle ground. Guilds could do Guild Emissary but random crews could do any of the other Emissaries. I do think it needs something like that though to incentivise more participation long term.

Yeah I can see both sides of this - I have a feeling folks will still LFG as some of them might not be in guilds to begin with, but for those that are sailing under a guild or emissary flag, this would incentivize them to continue playing the voyage after selling that 30th skull.

  • Maybe they could alternate the type of quest you get like riddle quests one season, bounty quests the next etc.

  • @ollieoxenfree I think the best way would be to add an activation/ritual to the quest so that the a player actively makes it come to the server. Maybe using the k9 island

  • Just make it count towards Guild progression after this next update. Boom. That's pretty much all they need to do to make this thing be ever-living.

Love this idea - so instead of all x marks the spot maps, riddles and/or a way-finder compass?

Maybe you have to deliver something to a sea post in trade for a key/chest?

It certainly seems like a easy and effective way to tweak the voyage each season...

  • @wolfmanbush definitely something that has myself and any crew I’ve been on to be excited about vote in to it, it’s been really really fun
