Please, change how to obtain the crowning glory golden skull title and sails for people who didn’t get them

    *SO straight of the bat I’m just going to get into it, with the hoarders hunt now come to the end of road with it’s final stages complete and the winner set in stone I feel like it’s only appropriate to address this suggestion to discuss and hopefully raise the alarm for one of rares loving caring staff to take a look at and for pirates and new swabbies alike that are starting sea of theives that may also want these rewards and the chance to experience unlocking these items that most players will not take a second thought of. So with the mystery now finished and the end of the final stage closingit is with great sadness that the in game items and momentos that come in addition as a reward are also now non existent in the game.

    In this scenario I can understand why rare might see this as a massive request for a complex situation but this is only a request/suggestion just to give players the chance like myself who didn’t get the oppertunity to get over the finish line like other pirates with abit more experience like this one andI’m not dissapointed that I didn’t get the real skull but what I am tearing up and am even more devastated about is that when I discovered I could not enter the code for the final stage because it had disappeared from the official website meaning that the items are no longer up for claiming. So in my most humble and non disrespectful way I propose and suggest that the methods or system in the way which to unlock and obtain all 3 cosmetics is to change how they are unlocked within the game just like how the pirate legend weapons were changed and taken out of arena please let this be an optional decision and I’m faithful rare will keep an open mind with this suggestion in the forums I don’t know if anyone else is missing these items but I can’t help but feel incomplete without these in my emporium of goody’s hopefully this grasps the attention of the head captains at rare and keep adding exciting things like these cosmetics to an ever growing and wonderful world as I would love to experience unlocking these specific items please rare don’t let them never return to the game I wish they stayed permanently🥺🫶…

    @gurughandi to be fair, you had a month to get the stuff, plus some bonus time.
    I think Rare have given you and everyone else an appropriate amount of time to login, do a fairly easy voyage 4 times with Rare Thief’s help (if you didn’t use it, why not!?), and claim the cosmetics. Time limited items are time limited, and they don’t tend to go back on that. So it seems like you’ve missed out, unfortunate, but you can’t say you weren’t warned with all the promo they did for it.

    Not exactly true.
    The Part4 journey was only active for a week after the code was known, and had to be completed in that week regardless of whatever other progress you may have had in the other parts. All other progress was meaningless.
    I was on holiday at the time when the 4th code was known & the last journey went live. By the time I got home it had concluded. It doesn't bother me, but I can see why it would bother some, seeing as the opportunity to get the sails was only a small window.
    Compare this to the "Who killed DeMarco" mystery window of opportunity (months!)

    While i do tend to have a stance against restricting some items, specifically parts of sets or things that were not special rewards, this was very expressly stated to give limited time rewards and it did so in a way that i would say makes it fair that it is limited, much like the arena ship and clothing sets.

    I think all seasonal cosmetics should come back as they required no effort to obtain. Just be active when the season was around and you just got them as a free bonus... The non pass rewards anyway. Also have nothing against them bringing back the paid seasonal cosmetics in the cash shop. I kinda figured they would do that either way. It makes sense. Basically buying the plunder pass is basically like early access at those cosmetics. Not to mention a discount if you compare it to buying the full set after the fact.

    As much as I have complained about the amount of FOMO cosmetics I hate to say I don't agree in this instance. This was a very special event and the cosmetics tied to it have a uniqueness to it. Though I am not sure if they communicated the details of the event poorly or I made assumptions and didn't read up on it as I should have. But the announcement and explanation on youtube and I think even this site were pretty vague leading upto the event. The promo made it seem like there was just the 1 grand prize. No in game cosmetics. Then the event started and you goto the webpage and there was 1 grand prize 10 runner ups and 100 3rd place prizes and sails if you did all 4 parts of the event. I don't recall it saying on week 1 that there were ship trinkets. I planned to avoid the event altogether but ended up bored at saw there were ship trinkets so decided what the heck I have the time might as well.

    From about 2 months into SoT they have gone in very heavy on the "don't quit playing you might miss out!" kinda of mentality. I remember the first year being super stressed every event that came out. I felt I HAD to get it done day 1 because everyone else was trying to get it done as well so more likely to leave you alone. Day2 maybe 50% back to normal then Day3 and onward it was back to normal 90% of ship encounters being hostile. Heck some events like the hunger deep it was like "ok we got our kill now lets sink other people trying to complete the event because we know exactly where they are going to be" which sadly is still the mentality today. Look at "A Hunters Cry" which was intended to be a PvE co-op adventure and it turned into a replacement for arena since bad actors could just spawn camp people trying to complete something that was supposed to be a fun co-op experience.

    The point from our OP that the window of opportunity to get the sails however, I believe is valid.

    I think this thread does raise the issue that cosmetics that can be earned in this game, from commendations or tasks, that are NEW to the game, are very few and far between. It would be nice if they were possible to earn for more than just a week.

    I don't believe it is valid.

    It was weeks of community participation.

    This just sounds like someone didn't pay close enough attention or wasn't able to and is upset they missed out.

    If a player knew about the sails then they knew they had to do ALL the voyages to completion.

    I get what you're saying - but the point I'm leading to is bigger than that.

    It just seems to me an odd strategy, to be creating content that only a small percentage of players participate in, or even see in the first place, and then time gate it.
    I feel there's just so few NEW things in the game for older players to chase.

    After a much thorough read through and much consideration my thoughts and view still stands on changing the method in how to obtain the 3 items, The reasoning behind this post is not to cause arguments among the pirates and people who did accomplish the hoarders hunt and manage to obtain all 3 items and I bet are over the absolute moon about it, But rather to create a better understanding for the pirates missing out on special opportunities to claim these in game rewards like smuntface said I can also agree why pirates are upset about this me included I should’ve been eligible and I want to show support and back up new commers to the game that won’t ever get the chance to have these items in there inventory just like myself and am highly frustrated by this inconvenience it dosen’t sit comftorably knowing I missed out when I was following the even from the beginning, Only to be faced with dissapointment when I logged on to the game and website to find that stage 4 had been revoked from the official sea of thieves sight meaning the code could not be input to complete the 4 th stage with only a week to do for stage 4 bear in mind I had completed all other stages so the week I needed to be home for I was not present this angers me and I’m probably in the same boat like many others so I can understand if other people want to support this I am only requesting this and discussing the information shared because whilst I want to let people know it would’ve been better to know when they was going to finish and when the time to input the codes and finish up was going to happen, but instead I was faced with bad news and emotion setting eyes on the text that read the hoarders hunt is now over. The event was very short on the time given for pirates who was away at the time not to mention that stage 4 was so short. I just believe it shouldn’t have ended as quick as it did and because of it being so time limited a week if that, Myself like many other pirates lost out on the opertunity to claim the sails, golden in game skull trinket and ingame title I think it’s safe to say it has put a rock in front of my boat when it comes to the full pirate experience I was having.

    I understand how special this event is and it’s just as special to me as it is to the next pirate that logs in and sets sail, In my honest pirate eyes and humble pirate opinion these cosemetics should be less time limited and more available to new pirates and old that didn’t get the chance and I will continue to spread the concern for this and for the pirates who are asking how it was not completed in the week given I must have logged in too late giving even more reason to support the fact that there just isn’t enough time to complete this and it shouldn’t just be a time available thing when they changed the legendary weapon set and put it into the Athena shop so why is it not possible to add these to the shop and give them a place on the shelves in the general store or emporium, Since those items are unobtainable now leaving the pirates who didn’t get those items filled with the daunting question if they will ever see the light of day again, Sea Of Thieves is a ever changing breathing world so whatever items in that world should have availability to all that sail this grand sea veteran pirates and new swabbies alike. I would really appreciate more people to upvote or show support as I think this is a in depth bold statement and option/suggestion for cause of concern to bring back special event items such as these rewards. I really still have hope that the idea for change is still an opportunity and that the chance to get the head pirates to do something wonderful and add these really cool exotic stuff back into the game that we all know and love and I hope my concept and suggestion for the idea is still in scopic view or the option for open mindedness is still out there in the sea of thieves community and that it isn’t all bad news :) I still have faith in consideration to do something amazing for the pirates that love this thriving exotic world.     The prizes were tied to the time-limited event that was Hoarder's Hunt. We communicated the end date from the very start of the event and, like all other time-limited events that have trinkets, cosmetics or titles, the rewards for this event were tied to those dates - same as Grogmanay, Festival of the Damned and the many other time-limited events that have come before. It is unfortunate that not everyone had the ability to complete the voyage but again, that is always the case with time-limited live events. We left the Mystery up as long as we could but it had an end date and this was communicated from the very beginning.

    There are currently no plans to bring any of these items back outside of the mystery.
