I (Solo Player) would absolutely pay for a private server if the option was released. I'm not great at pvp, and with the new update I can barely survive half an hour. I know what everyone always says "It's sea of THIEVES, not sea of FRIENDs" but it would be nice to get to sail around and enjoy and otherwise great world Rare had made. Private servers could have options like how often things like sharks, megs, kraken, skeletons, etc spawn. Also, paid servers bring i. more income for Rare, as well as pleasing a huge number of fans. I downloaded SoT on launch and it sucks that it has descended into toxicity like this.
PAYING Private Servers
@jmthom1 private server will come, but WITHOUT ANY PROGRESSION OR GOLD
Just watch this:

@mferr11 I agree. Stalking someone across the map for an hour and sinking them over and over while insulting them is toxic

Isults are toxic, yes, but getting chased for hours and getting sunk again and again isn't
@schwammlgott depends on the way they sank you. I respect direct approach, both of you have equal positions as to canons etc, you fight and lose, this way ok
Now if you play solo, you cant watch your ship sometimes, some guys just love sinking parked ships and throwing insults
All kinds of hiding on ship
Spawn killing
Especially galeon crews if they see a sloop. Lets just have some respect to each other
I sometimes place their cargo in a cave nearby just to say be careful boys
If I see guy is alone, I always let him enjoy his stay. It takes some understanding I think, but there are merely few guys who do the same@sheetsack sagte in PAYING Private Servers:
@jmthom1 try alliance servers bro, as far as I can see you will never find some understanding here, only phrases like PVP and its sea of thieves
There noones is gonna hurt you, you all cooperate, and as far as I know its free and you have your progressSounds pretty boring...grinding all day without any real thread...
I'm mostly PvE but can handle PvP...I wouldn't never played this game for such a long time if there wasn't the thrill from other players approach...@surveyorpete sagte in PAYING Private Servers:
I have absolutely no problem with this suggestion, provided ranks, titles, commendations, and cosmetics are not transferable into the open world.
Any reputation or honor you earn on a private server should remain private.
The private servers which are coming, doesn't have theyr own progression...they will have ZERO PROGRESSION
@schwammlgott yep, me too, but sometimes you want a calm evening, and it seemed rational to suggest this stuff to this mate

Sure, sometimes a calm session is nice, but that's pretty often the case anyway...also those days I don't really care if I sink or not...
I have no issue with private servers being introduced as long as there is very little in terms of rewards for going on them. People have reasons for wanting private servers (content creation - play with more friends etc) but what shouldn't happen is Private Servers become PvE servers. With the likes of discord etc it wouldn't be too difficult to arrange this (look how easy it is to get into an alliance server) and by rewarding people within that environment, it takes away from people who want to play the game as designed (PvPvE).
Also by letting people get all the titles/cosmetics without the risk is a bit of a kick to those in the community who have been grinding away for some time, taking their losses on the chin to finally get them.
