It's not just meant to be 1v1. Don't want to see alliances don't attack defend.
Oh look one of the cheaters farming wins.
The post owner is not talking about organic events where you are defending, and randomly make an alliance and keep on playing.
He is talking about clearly setup ambushes to cheat the matchmaking systems and steal a win from another crew.
I take offense to you calling me a cheater sir. I do not cheat. I despise cheating. I don't care how the alliance is formed. Let them be. If all the ships team up on a server to get wins more power to them. If you don't want to face the alliance defend it's very simple. Then you won't feel cheated.
If you setup what is supposed to be a 2v2 fight to turn it 10v2 you are 100% cheating. Call it whatever you want. You are a cheater if you do that.
Well no where does it say forming an alliance is against the rules. They did nerf the rep gains from attacking other ships but they didn't say you couldn't do it. If you were say teleporting and dropping kegs on people that I would consider cheating. I can't consider something that's allowed within the game to be cheating.
It's a fight and they didn't give us any rules just sink the other ship and gain reputation. There's all sorts of ways to win. Alliances are one of them. I don't care one bit about how the alliance was formed. An alliance is an alliance.
I've ended up in multiple ship alliances doing this event organically. When a ship spawned in and seen three of us there they didn't see the crazy battle that happened before they got there that made us form up. They just see an alliance. From their perspective it's an engineered team. The method of the formation of the alliance is irrelevant.
Here's the thing people don't seem to understand about the hourglass. Once you raise it you're in the queue. The war map is not necessary to be in the queue. You don't have to sit under the sea to be in the queue. If the hourglass is up you will get a match provided the matchmaking system is working properly.
If you put your dagger in that war map to dive you're the aggressor. You take the risk that you could end up fighting one of these alliances. If fighting an alliance is not fair to you don't dive. You can call people cheaters all day long but you have the power to dictate how the fight will happen. Don't be aggressive. Don't dive and you will have the fair fight you're looking for.
