I was playing with a crew yesterday who were all on xbox while I played on PC with a controller as I always do. We were battling it out with another crew at the skeleton fort and overheard them talking about us being "PC losers" and other names I can't mention here just because we were wrecking them. This was all the proof I needed to realize that the forum posts we see here where people are complaining about cross play are the same type of people who just don't realize they suck at the game... So Rare, please realize this and don't split the player base and ruin the longevity of the game. If that were to happen, I would be asking for my money back, as I need to be able to play with my xbox friends. This was a selling point for me.

Personally, I completely agree. Xbox player over here.
Playing Solo on a Sloop and sunk a fully PC crewed Galleon. Only knew because I saw that they were all typing messages instead of using the Pirate Chat Wheel, whenever I came in close to broadside.The advantage really isn't present during a ship battle. And ultimately, skill is still what matters, not hardware.

In about 95% of all cases bad language in Voice Chat comes from Console players.
The reason why this is so, is simply that about 90% of all SoT players are console players, and most of PC players know how to disable the horribly broken Ingame-Voice and use Discord instead.
But that would be probably the same on PC only servers, because in the end you will always find Players out there (regardless of platform) who are like that. And they will stand out of course. Learn to ignore them.

Nothing is more fun than watching PC players cry "Cheater!!11" on a guy with an xbox that just killed em and sank their ship because they can't figure out the very simple game mechanics (repair+bail+watch for boarders = unsinkable).
It's not about platform vs. platform, this is about Skill vs. Skill.
This game has INCREDIBLY well balanced cross-platform gameplay!
If you pay for a service with the premise of a level playing field, that's what you should get.
PC Players paid US$60 or 70 Euros. I laugh at Console crybabies with their 10 bucks for live sub. Sheesh.

He's referring to having to pay for Xbox Live service in order to play the game, something PC players do not have to do. He's not talking about the game itself.
If you and I both walked into a restaurant together, and you had to pay an extra $60 before you could even sit down to order, while I was able to just go in and sit down without paying the fee, wouldn't you expect something extra /additional / preferential from the restaurant in return for your $60?
Let's say I wanted to bang on a drum the entire time while in the restaurant, but you were told you could not do the same. Wouldn't you expect your $60 to get you a quiet seat away from the noise?

That calculation only works when Sea of Thieves is the ONLY game you play on your Xbox. In that case, you also have to add the price of the console to your calculation. How many Games do you also play on your console that are covered by Xbox live and game pass? (i'm not asking how many games you could play, i'm asking how many you actually do play using that subscription, because you have to divide your numbers by that amount to get the correct fraction of money you spent to play SoT).

Well done you own a $2000 pc, everyone is so proud of you & we are all so happy for you!@fatbeardedguy42 I'm not saying your claim that 95% of voice abuse comes from console is false but I am saying that stat is very subjective. I have only ever been verbally abused once over voice chat as he stood gloating and waving on an outpost dock and I know he was a PC player because he also typed the abuse the best he could with the in game censoring so in my case verbal abuse has come 100% from the PC community.
