Me and my crew encountered these 2 chests fairly often in the beta, but we have been playing since the release and haven't gotten either chest. I liked the challenge that these chests presented. It seems like they removed the chests entirely though at release.

I heard there's a good chance to find them in shipwrecks.
I generally avoid shipwrecks though so I wouldn't know.

I've found them both a few times, but they're pretty rare. I don't have enough data to form an opinion on whether their sell price is equal to their rarity but they don't feel like they give quite enough gold, roughly equal to a golden chicken or captain's chest or Villainous Skull.

Well, they are extremely rare, i'm 32/29/24 and only found 2 of each (and only 1 of each by myself, i stole the other 2). I found 80 captains, if a captain worth 800, i let you find how much grogs/sorrows should worth.
Sometimes, it's like Rare didn't test its own game. They should up the chances to find those chests OR up their price BY A LOT imo.@hunty-guy well they are supposed to be "cursed", so i really dont mind the rarity but yes i have came across them was still fun dealing with them

I'm sure you'd agree that'd be pretty unbalanced, so it becomes a matter of how much you think random chance should play into a player's progression.
If a chest was worth even half that I still think getting 32,000g just for being at the right place and the right time isn't equal to going through all the treasure maps, navigation, combat and PvP that it took for your chests.
On the other hand, being equal to only one chest is pretty low, I can agree on that.
Found my first chest of sorrow sub lvl 5 in Gold hoarders, currently at 15 and I've had 2 Sorrows and 1 Grog so far just by playing normal Voyages, all three were dug up on islands. I have uploaded DVR's of me finding one of each.
What I'd like are more variety of these types of chests and to decrease the odds of finding them so they are harder to come by.
Found the "chest of sorrow" on Kraken's Fall . Sold it for 1.134 goldOh and don't leave the chest of sorrow below deck, place it on the walk the plank , as it will cry and fill you're trusty ship up with tears.

No i don't think they should worth 32k gold. I think they are too rare at the moment, if i found 80 capitains since the launch, i should have found something like 15/20 sorrows and about the same amount of grogs, and they should worth 1500/2000 each imo, because not only they are rare, but they come with an added difficulty.

That's a valid point on the difficulty, mainly with the grogs.
The rarity on the other hand, is about how it should be in my personal opinion. Finding 6 total by 19/12/10 feels pretty rare to me, perhaps too rare for you and not rare enough for someone else. I wouldn't like to have to deal with grogs that often, they're too pesky to be doing all that stumbling around on a regular basis.
