Safer Seas Adventures Replay

  • With the introduction of Safer Seas this makes replaying old content now possible. One issue I've had with Adventures is that there is a lot of cool moments that are integral to the overall story of Sea of Thieves, but once they are gone they're gone and there is no way for older players to go back and experience these events and stories. They're basically temporary Tall Tales. With Safer Seas it is now possible for players to go back and experience old Adventures. You can load in an older instance of the game and play those older Adventures. We could take it even further and load in old events like the Hungering Deep. Obviously some changes will need to be made like reducing the number of players to summon the Shrouded Ghost. It could be a way to provide replayability to some older content. I'd love to do the Shrouded Ghost battle again. I only had time to do it once during the original run and I'd love to do it again.

  • I doubt they are going to restore any of the old adventures. All future adventures are supposed to be more gameplay focused and replayable, however.

  • I'm not gonna play on safer seas but I would love it if they had the Killer Whale ship on safer seas, as it was for the adventure.

One of my favorite changes to the environment was when it was part of the sessions for a while.

  • Honestly? I would love if they allowed for this as it would allow us to actually experience some of that "old" content again. I don't even care about the rewards, just the experience of playing it. It would also fix a big problem with the entire system of Adventures as well, that being their inherent FOMO design.

  • I also hope they introduce a way to experience the old adventures. I feel like safer seas would be the perfect place to do it, but they said safer seas wouldn’t have content the high seas doesn’t have, while safer seas will lack content the high seas does have.

Some of the adventures were pretty big pieces of work that had to include many work hours to create… and it’s extremely sad that they just went away. Couple that with all the new users who don’t even know what adventures are right now because we haven’t had them in so long. I really really hope they bring the original ones back for replay eventually.

  • The limits on repay would be the same for SS as HS and if they remove those from SS now they are dealing with 2x code bases which is what killed Arena.

This would need to be on both HS and SS or not at all.

  • Remember the hidden room in the last adventure with artifacts from all previous adventures? I have a feeling that one day that room will unlock and a button 'replay' will appear at each one of them. Which would be awesome as thats basically extra tall tales :)

  • @zig-zag-ltu
That would be awesome if they made that a thing :D

  • @d3adst1ck I thought they said they were looking to make all repayable

  • @hiradc Nope, they only said future ones will be replayable.

  • @d3adst1ck fair enough, makes sense given a lot of them are based on the state of the world at the time. Guess it means future ones will be less dependant on the 'current build'

Sounded kind of like they are going to be focused more on adding/showcasing new gameplay elements, which should make them more useful. I don't know how they'd keep up a solid release schedule doing that though.

I like this one a bunch, would really help in allowing us to replay older Adventures and fully enjoy them. Even if we don't get the same rewards or more limited versions of them, just being able to see old adventures we couldn't for whatever reasons we couldn't avoid would be very nice.
