Quote from the "legends" tab under "the game":
"Becoming a Legend
Every Trading Company is unique, as are the opportunities they offer. On one voyage you may be asked to acquire merchant cargo and safeguard it through perilous waters, while another will see you intent on hunting hostiles to claim a bounty. As their names become famed and their status ever more celebrated, well-practised pirates tend to set their sights on an even greater goal: tracking down the fabled Athena's Fortune!"
Originally, I thought the "Athena's Fortune" was a sort of endgame gold hoarders thing, like a top tier voyage with guaranteed captains chest or something, but with the press embargo lifted recently and all the news about Pirate Legends, what if it's not...
Last week, many game journalists talked about becoming a pirate legend by having top reputation in all 3 of the launch games trading companies. They also mentioned the legendary Pirate Lord who would send you on voyages for ancient treasure. Maybe the Athena's Fortune is one of the voyages the Pirate Lord can give you which involves all three voyage types - finding treasure, fending of hoards of skeletons and returning cargo within a time limit - but can only be accessed by Pirate Legends.
Thoughts?
