bounty hunters

  • i not to shore if this is a good idea but what if you could set a bounty on a person or his crew for a cost. so if people find then and kill them or if they add a way to hand cuff them so you can take them to the player that placed the bounty on them and get your wages.

  • I don't think bounties would be a bad idea, but the second part would not do well at all. Having the ability to cuff someone will literally only bring trolling and grieving into the game on the EXTREME scale.

I think bounties would be neat, only able to be set maybe once every 10-15 minutes after a bounty is collected. There really shouldn't be a compass indicator or anything like that either. If you happen to run up on the crew where the bounty was placed then awesome. Other than that any type of tracking would be unacceptable as you could simply put a bounty on a ship you knew had lots of treasure and use the bounty to keep an eye on them. Maybe upon death have the option to place a bounty? That way you can't just enter a game and instantly place it on a random.

  • I like the idea of a military or bounty hunter vendor. Instead of purchasing treasure maps you purchase information of last known port of a ruthless pirate. This would need a reputation meter, good actions against your fellow pirates moves you toward an honorable pirate status, bad deeds or attacking other pirates and taking their treasure and you move toward a ruthless status. The payout is greater the more ruthless the pirate is. The mission can be picked up by a number of players, the one that locates the target and kills them gets the bounty. Military and bounty hunters would be able to sail in a frigate, 12 gunner, max 6 man crew. The hunters would become the hunted.

  • @mr-pontiac421ho Like your idea bounties determined by reputation not other players☠

  • I think a reputation bounty system would work well, it wouldn't let players use it to their advantage say if they had two crews on the same server they could just kill each other forever to gain money. In addition it would give players that were tired of the normal voyage grind to do something a little different and more challenging and it would overall make player interactions that much more fun.

  • @callum1720 I said in other post that if your crew is carrying a high number of treasure say 20 or more then a bounty would be put on you. If you don't want a bounty then cash in constantly.

  • I thought of this before, and for sure it sounds interesting, a bounty target, maybe if something in the lines:

Someone kills a lot of players and after a certain amount of kills their ship gets a pirate flag, or something that indicates they have killed a lot of people, and after they are taken down you could be rewarded in Reputation to unlock cool new cosmetics that are meant for bounty hunters!

  • Bounty as a difficulty modifier, you sign up with a Company. Different that the normal Company, optional.

You run missions for them, some of the missions include "hits" on other members of the Company, randomly assigned. Each mission is worth a little more gold than the standard version of the mission, double the gold is your marked as the Target.

The target is server wide, lasts until killed, or you are able to earn enough gold to pay to cancel the hit. Everyone has the same target, you will receive cancellation of Target while at sea, but can only pick up new Target at port.. Limited tracking options, starting with a simple "They were heading in that direction".
