It would be super nice to be able to go to an outpost and swap to a ship that fits the crew. After a night of running a galleon with friends, some get off to go to bed and be really nice if the two that are left, or the single person could size down. Or start of the day question as friends get on "what ship are you on?". Just go to an outpost, ship scuttles when selecting new ship size. Cannot size down until the crew size is met, so no 4 man crew on a sloop. Be super nice when I get those alliances that have been going a while, or just other little things.
Ability to change ship size
@burnbacon Tonight was a perfect example, We got hit hard by some PvP, emotions caused disconnections, I was left on a galleon, but needed to drop the fish in my inventory and wanted to finish the quest, I had to dig up a chest. Would have been much easier to just go to the outpost and scuttle, then swap, and go finish off couple loose ends in a sloop. Instead I had the galleon to myself.
On flip side, I do a brig and a fourth wants to pop in, I do not want to drop quests or have to run to a sea post to sell what fish I may need, just go to the outpost, offload what I need, then just throw it on the galleon after the swap.
This is something that would be a QoL thing.
That would be really nice. You could play for hours with friends and when some other friends pop online scuttle and start a bigger ship without losing quest progression and food/canonballs/wood you gathered. That would be great for servers too since there will be less disconnection and search for other ships.
@galactic-geek good point and one I didn't think of. Suppose it would throw the whole server balancing off having the ability to change ships.
Maybe introduce a system where you can vote to change ship and thus change servers but keep your active voyages? Has to be done whilst in game and all your crew has to agree? I don't how hard that would be to implement?

We need to fix game breaking bugs first.Like how taking a mermaid back to the boat can disconnect you PERMANENTLY from your current session.
