Sea of Thieves is a great game, and I'm really enjoying it. HOWEVER, when you have to restart a Voyage SIX TIMES because some trigger happy, island camping 12 year olds keep sinking your ship, thus losing ALL PROGRESS, it's a bit infuriating.
If you keep losing your ship, maybe there is an issue in your gameplay causing you to lose the battle. This is a shared world adventure, where the largest challenge is dealing with other crews.
Add a feature that makes the White Flag take your ship out of PVP. When you raise the White Flag, it keeps your ship from taking damage from other players, and prevents you from doing damage to other ships as well.
The game is a shared world, having the option to ghost while only having 6 ships on the server is a huge impact that isn't going to improve the game and the ability to sail in safety can be achieved with the tools in the game. Additionally if you think people won't find ways to troll with a mode like this, you're not considering the game mechanics or the creative means of people. The ability to kill and sink someone is just as much in the game for you to enforce your own code as it is there for them.
Not everyone wants to be merced while playing solo on a sloop by 12 year olds on a galleon.
I solo all the time and have grinded many Athena's Fortune voyages without selling in between or hoarding loot and never feel at the mercy of any other crew. Anything I do to ensure I play in my own terms can be done with proper awareness, preparation and smart choices. No need for PvP god skills either, just practice and proper knowledge of the seas.
It seriously is a major flaw in the game, because when the ship sinks, you lose everything on it, and building up through the story missions, theres a lot to collect and fight on the islands.
In games you lose and you win, since when is this a problem. Your ship is supposed to be sacred, your safe haven, anchor in the world and it makes sense if you fail to defend it that you have to start anew.
When people come along and sink your anchored ship, it seriously ruins the point of even trying to play the story line.
Why are you anchored while parked?
Why are you not on your ship if they are that close, didn't you notice them approaching?
Just because you want to be doing a PvE challenge, means you cannot just ignore the sails on the horizon. Sorry, to say but it sounds like you want to play the game without learning the game mechanics and overcome the challenges it has. The tools are in the game and if you need some advice on how to sloop solo, there are guides and enough of us to help you out. The game however shouldn't need to change to compensate for your lack of pirating skills, while you choose to play the most challenging crew size, as you have no backup.
Nobody said that being a pirate would be easy and care free...
