Meet Captain Dropbear the Dangerous!!!

  • Inspired by some of the SoT artworks featuring skeletons and a suggestion from fellow Aussie @Pikaaroon I created something special to send to Rare as a gift from us Aussie pirates ( @Pikaaroon , @Tartansnake-8 and myself).

So, meet Captain Dropbear the Dangerous!!!

He was last seen in the Land Down Under (Australia) boarding a ship; rumour has it he has made his way to the Sea of Thieves.
Do not be fooled by his cute looks as he is armed and dangerous, there is a 200 gold reward for anyone brave enough to try'n capture him!!!!

These creatures, Dropbears , are legendary here in Australia and not to be trifled with, they bring fear to the heart of any Aussie Pirate!!

  • Very nice work! Hauntingly cute.

  • @stacky-a
    Wow, amazing work!

Would be cool to see that Dropbear in the game some day, it would be a sweet little Easter Egg.

  • @playfuldreaming Thanks! ☺

@Thor-von-Blitz Thanks ☺ yeh that would be awesome, they could make great pets if tamed haha!

  • @stacky-a love your stuff! Super creative me matey! Clever lady :D

  • Thanks @lizalaroo ☺

  • @stacky-a Awwwwwww super cute, freaky and awesome all at the same time...

    Love it!

  • Um, can I have one? =) Very nice work.

  • Awh adorable! Yet scarey.... 😊😂

  • Thanks @Musicmee @UnderWrldQueen really appreciate the comments :)
@Blackbeard-Lufy Thanks, haha, I think unfortunately this little guy will remain one of a kind. I don’t even think I could make one for myself as I usually lack the patience to make multiples, took over a month and I have so many other projects I need to create :) This game keeps inspiring.

  • Thanks @clumsy-george
Haha Dropbears are a fictional relative of the cute and harmless Koala bear.
They are mostly a story us Aussies like to tell to scare tourists haha.

  • And people still complain about this "toxic community".
    Yeah right.
    Props to you @stacky-a

    Yes, fictional ;-)

  • @stacky-a It reminds me a bit of a Gremlin, nice work.

  • @Power-Hansen Thanks, I have always found this community to be a creative and inspiring bunch.
@foxdodge Haha thanks! Actually Gremlins was one of my favourite movies as a kid. I guess drop bears are like the Aussie equivalent 😊- (Just don't feed them bananas after midnight)

  • @tartansnake-8
The drop bear be true, I tell yer no lie
It leaps from a limb, way up in the sky.
The claws are like harpoons that spear through yer skin
With teeth like a great white, through a sinister grin.

A fur covered devil that stands two feet high
I know 'cause I fought one, that took out me eye.
So all of you back packers, please make no mistake
when travelin' "down under" yer best stay awake.

They can smell foreign blood up to ten miles away.
Both nocturnal and diurnal means they feast night and day.
Attracted by campfire or perhaps it's the smoke?
One thing is for certain, drop bears are no joke.

Under the cover of darkness, they're sure to stalk you
Just silently watching, 'cause that what they do.
So heed stacky a's warning and believe in this critter
The two known repellents, "Vegemite" and "Victorian Bitter". :o)

  • @admiral-rrrsole - Not sure about the vegemite but I can down a few VB's to keep them away.

  • @stacky-a
    That's just too adorable!

  • @stacky-a

    Wow that is brilliant!!!
Thank you... for making this sleepy Pirate smile 1st thing this morning!!! :)
    Time for Coffee.

edit: Just realised an older post... (talent has no expiry!)
One I hadn't seen, very glad not to have missed it!
Thanks @eredhar for making it breathe again!

  • Thanks @eredhar and @PirateCraggy 🙂
Yeh made this little guy almost a year ago now.
Its a shame some of the older art threads get buried but there are some great creations if you dig through.
